Kinda chic to fix your pelvic floor ✨

Because leaking, pelvic pressure, painful s*x, constipation, and “I just don’t feel right down there” don’t have to be your normal.

Pelvic floor therapy = getting stronger, learning to relax, moving with confidence, and understanding what your body actually needs. 🤍

Consider this your sign to stop just “living with it.”

💥 Strong women deserve care that matches their strength. 💥

This weekend, we were honored to be part of Daughters of Destruction, the Kansas NPL All-Women’s Meet, made possible by Jess Eastwood at Top Crop Gym.

This wasn’t just another powerlifting meet. It was a celebration of women at every age, experience level, and stage of life—from first-time competitors to masters and elite lifters. The energy in the room was filled with strength, encouragement, and community.

At Pelvic Health PT by Phoenix, we believe lifting heavy and having a healthy pelvic floor are not mutually exclusive.

Leaking, pelvic pressure, and pain may be common among strength athletes, but they are not symptoms you simply have to accept as part of the sport. With the right support, you can:

🏋️ Lift with greater confidence
💪 Build strength that lasts
🩵 Keep doing the sport you love without fear of leaking, pain, or pelvic floor symptoms

We’re proud to be a pelvic health clinic that isn’t intimidated by barbells, chalk, deadlifts, or squats. In fact, we love helping powerlifters and strength athletes perform at their best—both on the platform and for years to come.

Thank you, Jess Eastwood, for creating a space where women are empowered, challenged, and celebrated. We loved cheering on the athletes, starting conversations about pelvic health, and supporting a community that proves one thing:

Strong women make each other stronger.

Stop managing your symptoms. Start lifting without limits.

Your rib cage and pelvic floor are teammates. 🫁🤝

When your rib cage moves well, your diaphragm can expand and contract efficiently—and your pelvic floor naturally responds with it. Restricted thoracic mobility can contribute to altered breathing patterns, increased tension, and less efficient pressure management.

Rib cage flare and persistent mid-back pain can also be signs that your rib cage isn’t moving as well as it could. Instead of expanding well with each breath, your body may compensate in ways that affect your breathing, core coordination, and pelvic floor function.

Improving rib cage and thoracic mobility isn’t just about your upper body—it’s an important piece of pelvic floor health.

✨ Breathe better. Move better. Support your core from the inside out.

Getting your “core back” isn’t just about doing exercises, t’s about rebuilding the foundation that supports everything you do.

At Phoenix, postpartum rehabilitation focuses on:
💙 Managing pressure through breathing, bracing, and relaxation
💙 Building strength for real-life activities like lifting your baby, carrying groceries, running, and returning to the gym
💙 Creating a plan that’s based on your body, your goals, and your recovery

Whether you’re six weeks postpartum or six years postpartum, it’s never too late to improve strength, confidence, and function.

If you’re ready to feel stronger and move with confidence again, we’re here to help. 🫶

✨FEATURE FRIDAY: PAULA GODDARD-MCFARLAND✨

"I had a recommendation for Dr. Paula to address the typical “old lady” urinal & f***l incontinance issues. She has been very patient, kind, open, and helpful in suggesting dietary changes, therapy exercises, stretches, internal evaluation, family history, reading materials, referrals, and more.

I am so happy to have found her and am in a much better place than when I started. Many women go through the end of life suffering with something that limits our ability to just do normal activities & more, not knowing that it’s treatable!
I mostly went to the S location and it was ALWAYS clean, orderly, and staffed with friendly personnel."

Pain is information, not the whole story.

Pain is your body's way of getting your attention, but it doesn't always tell you where the problem begins. The source may be related to movement patterns, muscle imbalances, posture, nerve irritation, or the pelvic floor itself.

At Pelvic Health PT by Phoenix, we look beyond symptoms to uncover what's really contributing to your pain. By treating the root cause, we help you move with more confidence, feel stronger, and get back to living without pain holding you back.

You don't have to settle for simply managing symptoms. Let's find the source together.💙

1 in 5 women experiences stress urinary incontinence. 💙

Yet so many are told it's "just part of being a woman."
After having a baby.
After menopause.
After getting older.

So they adapt.

✨ They stop running.
✨ They skip workouts.
✨ They avoid trampolines.
✨ They wear a pad "just in case."
✨ They cross their legs every time they sneeze.

But adapting isn't the same as healing.
Your body is telling you something.

Pelvic floor physical therapy doesn't just focus on your bladder. We uncover why your body is compensating in the first place, so you can get back to living without planning your life around leakage.

Men’s Health Month = time to break the myths 👏
TRUE or FALSE ⬇️
✔️ ED can be an early sign of diabetes, cardiac dysfunction, and other medical conditions
✔️ Hydration plays a key role in reducing urinary symptoms
❌ You have to live with urinary leakage after prostate surgery
❌ Pelvic floor PT before prostatectomy or radiation isn’t helpful
❌ Diet doesn’t matter when treating pelvic dysfunction or elevated PSA
Your pelvic health matters — and so does getting the right information. Pelvic floor physical therapy can help improve bladder, bowel, s*xual, and prostate-related symptoms at every stage of care. 💙
