PCOS has a new name… and it could change everything.

For years, the name Polycystic O***y Syndrome (PCOS) has focused attention on ovarian cysts, even though many women with PCOS don't have cysts at all. Emerging experts are advocating for a new term: PMOS (PolyMetabolic O***y Syndrome) to better reflect what this condition truly is: a complex metabolic and hormonal disorder.

✨ Why does it matter?• Earlier recognition and diagnosis• A better understanding of symptoms beyond the ovaries• More comprehensive, whole-person treatment approaches• Greater validation for the women living with it every day
A name change won't change your experience overnight, but it could reshape the future of awareness, research, and care.

💙 Whether it's called PCOS or PMOS, our goal remains the same: helping women find answers, support, and a path forward.

✨ PATIENT OF THE MONTH: CHELSAH ✨

This month we are celebrating Chelsah and the incredible progress she has made throughout her pelvic health journey with Lauren! 💙

After experiencing hip and back pain from a fall during pregnancy, Chelsah was referred to pelvic floor therapy by her OBGYN. What started as something unfamiliar quickly became life-changing. Through personalized care, birth prep, and postpartum therapy, Chelsah was able to experience a smoother pregnancy, phenomenal recovery, and return to working out, lifting, and running completely pain-free.

One of her favorite parts of therapy? “Besides Lauren? How not overwhelming it is.” Every session was tailored to her stage of life, with exercises and education that helped her feel confident, supported, and empowered throughout the process.

Stories like Chelsah’s are exactly why pelvic health physical therapy matters. We are so proud of all the hard work she has put in and thankful Lauren could be part of her journey every step of the way! 👏

Congratulations, Chelsah! We are honored to celebrate you this month! 🎉

Not everyone needs more Kegels—and sometimes they can actually make symptoms worse.

Kegels have a time and a place, but if your pelvic floor is already holding a lot of tension, adding more squeezing can increase pain, pressure, and dysfunction. Strength isn’t just about “tightening”—it’s about balance.

Your pelvic floor is part of a team. It works together with your core, diaphragm, and hips. If those muscles aren’t coordinating well, doing endless Kegels won’t fix the problem (and might keep you stuck).

The real goal?
✨ Learn how to relax and contract
✨ Build strength in your core and hips
✨ Improve coordination, not just force

A well-functioning pelvic floor is responsive, not constantly clenched.

If you’ve been doing Kegels and not seeing progress—or feeling worse—it might be time to take a different approach 💛

✨FEATURE FRIDAY: LAUREN SCOTT✨

"My time with Lauren S. with Phoenix was AWESOME. I was a pretty freshly postpartum mom and didn’t know what to expect, but I ended up finding that getting treated from week to week was exactly what I needed - both physically and mentally. She is a mom herself and became a sweet friend quickly. She speaks and treats from firsthand experience and makes you feel like you’re not alone in the unique season that postpartum is. A big pro of getting treated by Lauren is that she does internal treatment if that is needed and desired. I learned so much about my body when she treated this way. I now know that it’s possible to really know my own body, and when the time comes to hopefully have another child, I’ll have a better starting point as I prepare for birth!"

Jennifer came in postpartum feeling like everything inside her was about to fall out—her core felt disconnected, her back was constantly aching, and nothing quite felt like hers yet. With a diagnosis of DRA, even the simplest movements felt like a challenge.

But she didn’t back down. She showed up, put in the work, and slowly started rebuilding from the inside out. Together with Bri, she focused on reconnecting her core, restoring strength, and giving her body the support it needed to heal.

Now? She’s so close to graduating. Her core is strong, her back pain is gone, and she’s moving with confidence again. She’s not just feeling “better”—she’s feeling powerful, capable, and like herself again… just with a little extra mom strength added in 💪✨

Strong bodies, steady minds, and supported births 🤍

This weekend wasn’t just a class—it was a transformation. Mothers and fathers came together to learn, connect, and prepare in the most intentional way. Guided by pelvic floor therapists and a dedicated doula, we focused on building strength, understanding the body, and practicing real, hands-on techniques for active labor.

But just as important, dads stepped into their role with confidence—learning how to support, advocate, and truly show up during pregnancy and birth.

Because birth is a team effort, rooted in trust, knowledge, and deep connection.

Here’s to empowered parents, supported journeys, and bringing new life into the world with strength and love ✨

Most people think a C-section means the pelvic floor is “off the hook,” but it’s not.

Pregnancy alone places months of pressure on your system. Add surgery, scar tissue, and core disruption and your body has a lot to recover from.

If you’re dealing with:
🔹lingering pain
🔹tightness or weakness
🔹difficulty getting back to workouts
🔹or just feeling “off” in your core
…it’s worth getting it checked.

Pelvic health PT isn’t just for after vaginal delivery. It’s for anyone who wants to heal well, move confidently, and actually feel like themselves again. Recovery isn’t just about time. It’s about the right support. 🩵
