Choice Recovery Counseling is a private practice, substance abuse counseling provider, offering a non-traditional approach to understanding and changing behaviors. Lacey Glueckert, Licensed Addiction Counselor, has been working in the substance abuse field since 2003. She is passionate about Choice Theory and Reality Therapy, an approach that encourages people to evaluate their choices in terms of

effective or ineffective rather than ‘good’ or ‘bad’. Every behavior is purposeful and ultimately our best choice at the time - even drug and alcohol use but we must have the information to choose different behaviors. CRC assists people in identifying how they can get closer to what they want by choosing more effective thoughts and actions through Individual Sessions and Low Intensity Outpatient Programming. DUI Evaluation and 16 Hour Seminars are offered to assist people in fulfilling court and DOT obligations. Information is focused not only on avoiding further alcohol or drug related legal charges, but truly increasing awareness of all substance related risk and allowing for clients to self evaluate changes they would like to make. Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) services are also offered to assist clients who have tested ‘non-negative’ for a DOT Safety Sensitive position. CRC’s main goal is to build relationships with people seeking change in their life after making ineffective alcohol and drug choices.

We are gauging interest (and commitment) to how many individuals would want to get the recovery tattoo (1st pic) at the Recovery Event on September 24. Cost is $75 a piece, and we would need at least 10 individuals to commit within the next few days before the artist reserves that time for us. Art would be done AT the recovery event that evening during the recovery event, as the artist has a mobile license. If you want to get on a list or ask questions, please reach out to Lacey at 7017709743 or msg this page!! Thanks!!

Our society is pretty wild isn't it?? Alcohol is the only drug that you have to explain why it is that you don't use. No one ever asks why you aren't snorting lines or smoking pipes on an end-of-summer holiday weekend. Here's to a weekend of unapologetically being your sober self. We've got this. 💜💜

WCCC LIBRARY DRIVE ANNOUNCEMENT:

Most Wednesday WCCC groups are somehow linked to a current book I've been reading or a therapeutic approach I'm learning about. This past Wednesday, a few group members made requests to try to get one of the books I was going on and on about...and that sparked an idea. We've now gotten the green light to put together an Amazon list of a variety of self-help, recovery, or therapy-related books to add to the WCCC library, and we would LOVE help providing these books to the jail! These books would be greatly appreciated by anyone able to read them while in WCCC!! Please find an Amazon link below that will take you to a list of books that can be shipped directly to the CRC office, where we will then take them to the jail library on a weekly basis. This seems like the best route, as all books must be new and paperback, and we can provide them to the jail staff in their required state for donation. Don't worry about whether multiple copies get purchased...we would love to have plenty of copies of each book on the list!! If you have further suggestions for book titles, please don't hesitate to reach out and discuss (We bought a ton of NA/AA books in the past few years, so those are stocked up at WCCC!).
