A key component of working with shame is honesty. Being honest about how others impacted us and how this shaped how we reach out and engage with life. Honesty opens up a path where we can connect again. Sharing our truth and having others present with us.
Shame revolves around taking on fault or responsibility. Holding things inside and avoiding connection. When we are honest we can push back and acknowledge that others may have caused our hurt or pain. We do not have to carry the world on our shoulders and hold everything inside.
Honesty creates space where shame restricts and contracts the nervous system.
When we are honest we create courage, strength, power, and peace in our system.
Let’s move toward the energy of honesty and see how our shame softens, eases, and lets go.
