A week ago a good samaritan brought in a baby crow (may be 3 weeks old) that had fallen out of its nest and had been in a parking lot for almost 3 days. On arrival he was severely lethargic and horribly dehydrated. I started him on fluids, warmed him back up, started treatment on his injured eye and syringe feedings every few hours... and then ultimately ended up taking him home.
Honestly, we weren't sure if he would make it. But this little guy is a fighter!
And now this hilarious, opinionated and curious little fella is thriving! Everyday we are working on teaching him new crow-survival skills (drinking on his own, pecking at things, hopping, flapping his wings, vocal ranges, foraging...) with the hope of releasing him back into the wild once he is self sufficient.
Until then Mr. Jones (get it... from the Counting Crows song), has a team of friends loving on him at WCVH (and my house).
