If someone you care about is grieving, there are things you can do to help. Sometimes, simply being present and allowing space for their emotions, even if it means sitting in silence, can be a source of comfort.

Listening with compassion and encouraging them to share memories is also a thoughtful way to show you care.

Finally, stay connected: consider reaching out on anniversaries and special days. Remember that even small signs of support can make a big difference.

You may have recently seen headlines about a nationwide six-month pause on new hospice providers enrolling in Medicare. This step by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is designed to strengthen oversight and ensure every provider meets the highest standards of care.

At Trellis Supportive Care, we fully support these efforts. As our CEO, Dr. Mike Lalor, shares: "Hospice care should always represent dignity, compassion, and trust. Actions that address bad actors in our industry are necessary to preserve the integrity of hospice."
