Start with no weight or up to 10% of your body weight. Weight amount needs to be adjusted based on the type of walk/trail, distance and fitness level.

Rucking is for everyBODY.

Beginners welcome.

Humans were made to carry heavy things.
Rucking = walking with weight.

Rucking is a great way to get outside, move your body, strengthen longevity through endurance and gaining muscle all while building community and new connections.

Rucking is the no. 1 way to simultaneously burn fat AND build muscle. It is also less likely to cause injury than running, lifting weights, etc.

Details:
• We will meet in the main parking lot for the Muddy Creek Greenway on Meadowlark Rd. - Jamison Park
• We will hit the greenway at 10am.
• Distance – 1-3 miles based on your experience. We will discuss that in the parking lot.
• Wear shoes you are comfortable in
• Bring water (in a bottle or a bladder in the backpack)

Start with just 10% of your body weight in a backpack or use a weighted vest. The weight can be from books, rocks, dumbbells, cans of food or a puppy. I vote for puppies 🙂

I have extra backpacks if needed.

11-12pm Donation-based Yoga Class led by .dzybon followed by community and conversation

12:30-4:30pm will be selling desserts

1-3pm will be playing some tunes

1-6pm Popup

1:30-3:30pm will be offering a Fused Glass Class with A La Cart WS providing some charcuterie boards for the class

Set your intentions for 2026 using the breath as your guide and the community as your anchor.

Begin your New Year with the Yoga(mmunity) Tribe as we move and breathe together setting our intentions for how we would like to feel and how we want to show up in life for this new year.

We will begin with a Metta meditation moving into a 1hour all-levels heart-felt yoga class.

Followed by custom made just-for-us burrito recipes prepared by a.k.a. The Burrito Guy.

Bring all those read and even some unread books you’ve been holding on to for years to donate to the .honeybee.bookmobile

The Purple Honeybee’s Mission: provide the community with greater access to reasonably priced books while growing children’s home libraries, one free book at a time. They work directly with Title 1 schools and non-profits accepting ALL donated books - children and adult. The sales from adult books go towards buying more children’s books.

Spending time in nature has a profound impact on one’s health and mental wellbeing.

Not sure how to connect to nature?
Not comfortable hiking alone?
Unsure where to even begin?

Join me on this guided off trail hike.

Learns how to navigate unfamiliar terrain in a controlled and guided setting.

This hike is about 3 miles and not too challenging. It begins with a gradual incline up to the ridge line. Pace is slower due to the rocky and leave covered ground. There is a cave we can explore if you choose.

35minute drive from Winston Salem.
Exact location given with registration. $15

DETAILS:

This time of you year the weather can vary quite a bit from 10am to 1pm and it can get quite windy on the ridge line. There is a section of navigating briars so puffy coats might not be the best choice (they rip easily).

• wear hiking boots
•abrasion resistant pants (tights are not a great option nor are they very warm)
•dress in layers
•wind protection
•hat & gloves
•water
•snacks (one will be provided)
•hiking pole (I have a coupe extras)
•headlamp (for the cave)
•a backpack or waist pack are your best options (I have a couple extras if needed).

*NO dogs – terrain is rocky and too high a risk for injury

WOW!!

Hard to believe it’s been 10 years since Yoga(mmunity)’s first class of 10 people.

I may have been the one to plant the vision of building community one asana at a time but…. it was all of you who brought it to life and kept it growing through the years and for that I am beyond grateful.

Let’s celebrate yoga.
