April is C-section Awareness Month 🤍
A C-section is not the “easy way out.” It is a major abdominal surgery, and it deserves respect, support, and proper recovery care.
Whether a C-section was planned or unexpected, the body goes through a significant experience. Healing extends far beyond the surface scar. Core strength, pelvic floor function, breathing mechanics, and overall movement all play a key role in long term recovery and health.
Common experiences after C-sections:
-Core feeling weak or disconnected
-Pain, tightness, or pulling around the scar
-Uncertainty about what is safe or appropriate during recovery
These concerns are common and there is support available.
Pelvic health physical therapy can help restore core strength safely, improve scar mobility and sensitivity, improve pelvic floor coordination, and return to exercise and daily activities with confidence.
No matter how much time has passed since delivery, it is never too late to focus on recovery.
Every birth story matters. Every recovery matters. 🤍
