❄️ Stay Safe, Stay Prepared: A Winter Storm Guide for Waiver Families
With a major snowstorm heading our way, the focus shouldn’t be on business—it should be on people. For our neighbors relying on Waiver services and supports, "business as usual" isn't an option.
If you or a loved one depends on consistent care, now is the time to double-check your safety net. Here is a quick checklist to help you prepare:
🛠️ Your Winter Essentials
• Medication & Supplies: Ensure you have at least a 3–5 day supply of all meds and medical equipment.
• Power Up: Charge all devices and check backup batteries for assistive technology or oxygen.
• Communication: Keep a physical list of emergency contacts and your Service Facilitator’s direct number.
• Emergency Kit: Stock up on blankets, flashlights, water, and any specific dietary necessities.
• The "Plan B": Know exactly who to call if your power goes out or if a caregiver is unable to travel to you.
