Have you started eating healthier but somehow feeling WORSE? This can be frustrating but don't let it stop you from continuing your journey. Instead explore reasons why this may be happening.

If you started adding more vegetables, salads, beans, whole grains, fermented foods, smoothies..... and suddenly it is causing more bloating, gassiness, constipation, or feeling uncomfortable.

First: this doesn't mean healthy foods are bad for you.

It may mean your gut needs a different approach right now.

A few common reasons you may feel worse after “cleaning up” your diet:

🥦 You increased fiber too quickly
🫘 You're eating more fermentable carbohydrates than you tolerate
🥗 Your portions are much larger than before
🥬 You're adding too many new foods at once
🧠 You're eating while stressed or distracted
💩 Your motility is already sluggish
🧪 There may be an underlying digestive issue contributing to your symptoms

And here's the part I really want you to remember:

Healthy ≠ universally tolerated.

A food can be incredibly nutritious and still not agree with your gut right now.

But that doesn't mean you need to eliminate everything.

Instead of asking, “What healthy food is causing my symptoms?”

We need to ask:

“WHY is my gut struggling to tolerate these foods?”

Because the goal isn't to create a smaller and smaller list of “safe” foods.

It's to improve your digestion so that, over time, you can tolerate a wider variety of foods.

If you're constantly changing your diet, eliminating foods, and still dealing with bloating or digestive symptoms, it's time to look beyond the food itself.

Save this for the next time you wonder, “Why does eating healthy make me feel worse?”

Things I no longer believe about health

I used to think health was mostly about eating “better,” having more discipline, and finding the right supplement.

Now, after working with women struggling with gut issues, hormone imbalances, fatigue, acne, and chronic symptoms, I see things very differently.

❌ More willpower is not the answer.
❌ Everyone does NOT need to eliminate gluten and dairy.
❌ “Normal” lab results don’t automatically mean everything is optimal.
❌ You don’t need a perfect diet to feel better.
❌ Bloating, acne, fatigue, and digestive issues are not symptoms you should simply learn to live with.
❌ More supplements ≠ better results.
❌ Your gut and your mood are not separate systems.
❌ Nervous system regulation is not optional when we’re talking about whole-body health.

Your body isn’t failing you. It’s communicating with you.

And instead of constantly asking, “What else can I eliminate or add?” sometimes we need to ask:

“Why is my body responding this way in the first place?”

That’s where root-cause nutrition comes in. 🤍

If you’re tired of chasing symptoms and want to understand what may actually be driving them, book a discovery call through the link in my bio.

What if your cholesterol, vitamin D, hormones, and weight weren’t completely separate problems?

One often-overlooked piece of the puzzle is bile flow.

Bile plays an important role in fat digestion, absorption of fat-soluble vitamins like vitamin D, cholesterol elimination through the digestive tract, and the processing and elimination of hormones like estrogen.

So when bile production or flow isn't optimal, it may have ripple effects across digestion, nutrient absorption, hormone metabolism, and metabolic health.

This is why I don't believe in looking at one lab value or symptom in isolation.

If you're struggling with stubborn weight, high cholesterol, low vitamin D, bloating after fatty meals, or signs of hormone imbalance, it may be worth looking at the bigger picture.

Your body isn't a collection of disconnected systems.
Stop guessing. Start understanding.

Feeling bloated is one of the biggest complaints I hear from women and this isn’t something you should have to “just live with.”

While digestive enzymes, bitters, ginger, peppermint oil, magnesium, and a post-meal walk can all be helpful tools… they’re not a substitute for figuring out WHY you’re bloating in the first place.

Bloating may be connected to:
✨ Constipation or slow motility
✨ SIBO or other infections
✨ Food intolerances
✨ Poor digestion
✨ Hormonal changes
✨ Stress + nervous system dysregulation

The goal isn’t to keep adding another supplement to your routine every time your stomach feels uncomfortable.

It’s to identify the cause and create a personalized plan that actually addresses it.

If you’re tired of guessing and want support getting to the root of your digestive symptoms, schedule a discovery call with me.

A favorite easy summer drink that is supportive of the liver and healthy metabolism.

Research has shown it protects the liver from fat, can lower blood pressure, helps reduce visceral belly fat. Its antioxidant capacity is higher than green tea which can help reduce inflammation and protect blood vessels.

If you’ve tried gut protocol after gut protocol and still don’t feel better, read this.

It’s not necessarily because you’re doing something wrong.

The problem may be that your protocol was focused on what was happening, rather than why it was happening.

You can kill bacteria, eliminate foods, take supplements, and follow the “perfect” diet…

But if you never address the underlying factors that contributed to your symptoms in the first place, it’s easy to end up right back where you started.

Things like:
✨ Slow gut motility
✨ Poor digestion or bile flow
✨ Low stomach acid
✨ Nutrient deficiencies
✨ Stress and nervous system dysregulation
✨ Hormonal changes
✨ Food intolerances or triggers
✨ An imbalanced gut microbiome

And sometimes, the answer isn’t adding more.

It’s stepping back, looking at the bigger picture, and figuring out what your body actually needs.

Your gut isn’t broken. You may just have been missing the right pieces of the puzzle. 🤍

If you’re ready to stop jumping from one protocol to the next and finally understand your root causes, book a Discovery Call through the link in my bio.

There are so many things I wish I could tell my younger self…

✨ You don't need another supplement. More isn't always better—your body needs the right plan, not the biggest supplement collection.

✨ Acne isn't a personal failure. It's often your body trying to communicate that something deeper needs attention, whether that's hormones, gut health, stress, or nutrient deficiencies.

✨ Feeling exhausted every single day isn't "just part of being busy." You deserve to wake up with energy, not rely on caffeine to get through the day.

Healing isn't about chasing quick fixes. It's about understanding why your body is struggling in the first place.

If you're ready to stop guessing and finally uncover the root cause of your symptoms, I'd love to help. Book a discovery call using the link in my bio, and let's create a plan that's tailored to you. 🤍
