🏃‍♀️ Why Staying Active Matters When You Have Neuropathy 💙

Living with neuropathy can make movement feel challenging, but staying active can be an important part of supporting your overall health and well-being.

Regular, appropriate activity may help:

✨ Improve circulation — helping support healthy blood flow throughout the body
✨ Maintain strength and balance — which can help with daily activities and mobility
✨ Support overall wellness — including energy levels, mood, and quality of life
✨ Keep joints and muscles moving — helping prevent stiffness and deconditioning

You don’t have to start with intense workouts. Gentle activities like walking, stretching, swimming, or low-impact exercises may be a great place to begin. The right level of activity depends on your individual health and symptoms.

💡 Remember: Listen to your body, choose safe activities, and talk with your healthcare provider about an exercise plan that fits your needs.

Small steps can lead to meaningful progress. 💙

🧠 Early Signs of Neuropathy You Should Know 💙

Neuropathy can develop gradually, and early symptoms may be easy to overlook. Recognizing the warning signs can help you start a conversation with your healthcare provider sooner.

Some common early signs of neuropathy may include:

✨ Tingling or “pins and needles” — especially in the hands or feet
🔥 Burning sensations — often described as a warm, uncomfortable feeling
⚡ Sharp, shooting, or electric-like pain
🦶 Numbness or reduced sensation — feeling like your feet or hands are “asleep”
👣 Increased sensitivity — discomfort from light touch, socks, or bedding
⚖️ Changes in balance or coordination — sometimes related to reduced feeling in the feet

Symptoms can vary from person to person, and early evaluation can help identify possible causes and treatment options.

💙 If you’ve noticed changes in sensation, don’t ignore them. Keeping track of your symptoms and discussing them with a healthcare professional can be an important step in supporting your nerve health.

🦶 Neuropathy vs. Poor Circulation: What’s the Difference? 💙

Numbness, tingling, and discomfort in your feet or hands can have many causes. Two common concerns people ask about are neuropathy and poor circulation—but they affect the body in different ways.

🧠 Neuropathy (Nerve Problems)
Neuropathy occurs when nerves are damaged or not working properly. Common symptoms may include:
✨ Burning, tingling, or “pins and needles” sensations
✨ Numbness or reduced feeling
✨ Sharp, shooting, or electric-like pain
✨ Sensitivity to touch

🩸 Poor Circulation (Blood Flow Problems)
Poor circulation happens when blood doesn’t flow efficiently to certain areas of the body. Possible signs may include:
✨ Cold hands or feet
✨ Skin color changes
✨ Swelling
✨ Slow-healing wounds
✨ Leg discomfort that may worsen with activity

While the symptoms can sometimes overlap, understanding the difference can help you have a more informed conversation with your healthcare provider.

💡 If you’re experiencing persistent numbness, pain, tingling, or changes in your feet or hands, it’s important to get evaluated to determine the possible cause.

Let us help you! This is a common image we see here at the office. This is typically the result of multiple surgeries. There is a time and a place for surgery.

However, these are people that are walking in our office every day! As you can see this patient has 4 back surgeries in 3 years. Including fusions as well as a spinal stimulator. This particular patient had the spinal stimulator put in a year and a half ago. He said, it doesn’t work so it’s not even on.

If we can get to this before the back is fused OR even after, we can use our spinal decompression machines to help give the discs and nerve holes more space.

Call us today!!! Don’t wait! 651-294-2332. We can help prevent a huge headache….. or backache for that matter!

🥗 Foods That Support Overall Nerve Health 💙

The foods you eat can play an important role in supporting your overall nerve health. While no single food can prevent or cure nerve problems, a balanced diet rich in key nutrients can help keep your nervous system functioning at its best.

🌿 Leafy greens – Packed with vitamins and antioxidants that support overall wellness.
🐟 Fatty fish – Salmon, tuna, and sardines provide omega-3 fatty acids that support nerve and brain health.
🥜 Nuts and seeds – Great sources of healthy fats, vitamin E, and magnesium.
🥚 Eggs – Rich in B vitamins, including vitamin B12, which is important for healthy nerves.
🍊 Citrus fruits and berries – Loaded with vitamin C and antioxidants that help protect cells from oxidative stress.
🥑 Avocados – Provide healthy fats, potassium, and other nutrients that support overall health.
🌾 Whole grains – Offer B vitamins and fiber to help fuel your body throughout the day.

💧 Don't forget to stay hydrated and aim for a variety of colorful, nutrient-rich foods as part of a healthy lifestyle.

Always talk with your healthcare provider before making significant dietary changes or starting supplements, especially if you have a medical condition.

💙 Happy Parent Appreciation Day! 💙

Today, we celebrate the parents, grandparents, guardians, and caregivers who give so much of themselves every single day. Your love, patience, guidance, and support help shape stronger families and brighter futures.

Whether you're cheering from the sidelines, helping with homework, offering a comforting hug, or simply being there when it matters most, your impact is immeasurable.

Take a moment today to recognize the incredible parents and caregivers in your life—or if you're one yourself, remember to give yourself some well-deserved appreciation, too. The care you give makes a difference every day.

💐 Happy Parent Appreciation Day to all who nurture, encourage, and inspire. Thank you for everything you do!

If this is for a healthcare practice, I can also tailor it to recognize parents who care for children with chronic health conditions or special healthcare needs.
