Do you ever get something in your inbox at just the right time?
Once, it was something for my dog. 🐶
Another time, it was the perfect gift idea for a friend. 🎁
One day, it was a legislative update on an issue I was very invested in.
Most recently, it was about a homeopathy book I had been wanting to read, but up until now, it wasn’t available in English. 🫤
The topic may be relevant to you.
It is about strep infections and how they can impact the body long after you thought you were done with them.
Did you know that past strep infections can be connected to aches and pains throughout the body, often called rheumatism?
In fact, I can look up the word “rheumatic” in my homeopathic repertory and find over 1,000 symptoms.
A general symptom of rheumatic pain has 678 remedies listed for it!
That is a lot of remedies for something many people think of as “just aches and pains.”
You might be thinking, “I never had a strep infection, so this probably doesn’t apply to me.”
Maybe.
Not all rheumatic pain comes from a history of strep infections.
But in homeopathy, we also pay attention to family history. If a parent or grandparent had a significant history with strep, rheumatic fever, or related symptoms, that may still matter.
That is clinical evidence in homeopathy.
My own mother had rheumatic fever, which can happen after an untreated strep infection. I had my tonsils removed when I was 3 years old, partly because of that family history and the concern about preventing worse symptoms.
So if you have aches and pains you can’t quite figure out, it may be worth doing a little digging into your own history, and your family’s history, with strep infections.
Sometimes the thing you “got over” is not as gone as you think.
And yes, homeopathy has a way to address this.
Does this make you wonder about your own history with strep or tonsil issues? Comment “STREP” and I’ll know this is a topic worth talking about more.
