Researchers at the Terasaki Institute for Biomedical Innovation and the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Tucson, developed a new approach to treating burn wounds. 🧪

Together, they developed a topical gel using 4-AP, an FDA-approved drug best known for treating multiple sclerosis and engineered it to deliver healing directly to the wound site. ❤️‍🩹

Terasaki Institute was honored to partner with UCLA TDG planners for this year’s 2026 LABEST program and to present the Terasaki Track Sessions, highlighting the latest conversations in Advanced Tissue and Organ Repair (AToR). 🧪

The sessions brought together leaders from industry and academia to explore where the field has been, where it stands today, and where it is headed next. Discussions covered emerging bioengineering technologies, advances in cell biology and regenerative science, and next-generation devices that are helping move tissue and organ repair closer to clinical impact.

Thank you to UCLA TDG for your trust and collaboration, as well as all of the speakers, panelists, and attendees who helped make this year’s program such a meaningful exchange of ideas and innovation. 💡
