Attended my 777th birth today, my last official doula birth of an 18 year Doula career. Born ON the edd 4/14 weighing 8lb 14oz. If those aren’t some auspicious numbers! I closed it out with a cherished repeat client. Now, on my 46th birthday, I step into the role of Midwife. The Ohio Doulas is still here and going strong! We are recruiting additional daytime, overnight, and birth doulas to join the team.

If you have ever been a supporter of the work we do, please consider reaching out to Jean Schmidt Ohio House Representative of District 62 (https://ohiohouse.gov/members/jean-schmidt)
and ask that she clearly delineate exemptions for Doulas, Midwives, and Lactation Counselors/Consultants to OH House Bill 744.

Please consider reaching out to your state representatives in support of OH House Bill 537 to establish/improve/expand licensure for CPMs, LMs, CIMs, and CNMs and to license independent birth centers. Give families more autonomy and birthing options while making birth safer.
