Meet our Physician Assistant, Amanda!

Amanda joined Advanced Foot, Ankle & Wound in 2025 and has been a fabulous addition to our team! She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Central Florida and went on to earn her degree from Grand Valley State University’s PA program here in Grand Rapids.

Amanda loves working in medicine for the incredible team she’s a part of and the opportunity to help patients understand how vital foot health is to overall health, independence, and living a happy, pain-free life. Outside of the clinic, you can find her getting lost in a fiction book, spending quality time with her husband and two sweet pups, or doing her best not to kill her houseplants (the struggle is real)!

Meet Advanced Foot, Ankle & Wound's owner and physician, Dr. Hartger!

A Grand Rapids native, Dr. Hartger is proud to care for the community he calls home. After earning his degree from Midwestern University’s School of Podiatric Medicine in Phoenix, Arizona, he completed a podiatric surgery residency at Beaumont Hospital–Farmington Hills (now Corewell Health) in Farmington Hills, Michigan.

Dr. Hartger brings a broad, well‑rounded background to his practice, with experience spanning hospital-based care, advanced wound care clinics, and private practice. As a board‑certified wound specialist, he is especially passionate about diabetic limb salvage and restoring foot health for patients with complex, hard‑to‑treat wounds. He is committed to staying at the forefront of podiatric medicine—continually learning and adopting new techniques and procedures to offer patients more effective, personalized options for foot, ankle, and wound care.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Hartger enjoys experimenting with adventurous recipes in the kitchen in an ongoing effort to expand his kids' love for chicken nuggets. He's also a fan of hanging with his wife and watching all the sports (Michigan teams, of course). How about them Pistons?!
