A message to our patients in Ohio with Medical Mutual of Ohio (MMO) health insurance:
Our current contract with MMO ends Dec. 31, 2026. And, we are in discussions with MMO, actively working toward a new agreement. However, if an agreement is not reached before Jan. 1, 2027, Mercy Health physicians, hospitals and care sites in Ohio will be considered out-of-network for patients covered by MMO.
For now, nothing changes. You should continue to see your Mercy Health providers and keep any scheduled appointments.
Emergency care remains available regardless of network status. Should Mercy Health become out-of-network with MMO, some patients receiving ongoing care for certain chronic or complex conditions may qualify for Continuity of Care protections.
What you can do now:
To better understand your options and to ensure your access to Mercy Health care, consider taking the following steps:
▪️ Call MMO at the number on the back of your insurance card to ask how your coverage could be affected.
▪️ Talk with your employer or benefits representative if you receive MMO coverage through work.
▪️ If you have a Medicare Advantage plan, speak with your broker or plan representative about options for maintaining in-network access to Mercy Health doctors, hospitals and care sites.
▪️ Visit https://www.mercy.com/MMOUpdates for updates and to learn more about your coverage options and ways to keep your Mercy Health care team in network.
At Mercy Health, we understand how important it is to continue receiving care from care teams you know and trust. We remain committed to reaching an agreement with MMO that protects patients' access to affordable, high-quality health care. We will continue to keep you informed as discussions progress, and we are doing everything we can to avoid any disruption to your care.
