A little reminder from Alta: you’re allowed to take care of YOU, too! 💚✨ This Self-Care Awareness Month, let’s remember that self-care doesn’t have to be complicated, expensive, or take up your whole day. Sometimes, the little things can make the biggest difference. 🌱

Try making a little time for yourself by:

🧘 Taking a few quiet minutes to breathe and reset
🚶 Getting outside for some fresh air or movement
🎶 Listening to your favorite music
📖 Reading, creating, or doing something you enjoy
💬 Talking to someone you trust
😴 Giving yourself permission to rest
📵 Taking a break from your phone or social media
💚 Setting boundaries and saying “no” when you need to
🌟 Celebrating the little wins—because they count, too!

Self-care isn't selfish. Taking care of your mental and emotional well-being helps you show up as your best self.

So today, check in with yourself: What do YOU need? 💭💚

When a crisis happens, having someone there can make all the difference. 💚 This Su***de Prevention Month, we’re highlighting Alta Behavioral Healthcare’s Mobile Response Stabilization Services (MRSS) and the immediate support available to youth and young adults who are experiencing a behavioral or emotional crisis.

In this interview, Jionna Gillins, MRSS Coordinator, explains how our team responds to crises where and when they happen—sometimes in as little as 60 minutes.

A crisis can look different for everyone and may include:
💚 Escalating emotional or behavioral concerns
💚 Mental health challenges
💚 Trauma or grief
💚 Parent/child or caregiver/child conflict
💚 School-related concerns
💚 Addiction or substance use
💚 Running away from home
💚 Suicidal ideation

MRSS is available to youth and young adults under 21, providing support not only to the individual in crisis, but also to families and school staff.
Our teams include a licensed clinician and peer recovery support staff or qualified mental health specialist who can provide immediate de-escalation and emotional support, while also helping create a plan for what comes next.

And the support doesn't necessarily end when the immediate crisis is over. MRSS can provide:
📝 Safety assessment & planning
🧘 De-escalation and coping strategies
🤝 Parent support
📍 Connections to additional resources
🏡 Up to 6 weeks of ongoing support at home and school

Because su***de prevention isn't just about responding in a moment of crisis—it's about making sure young people and their families have support before, during, and after that moment.

🎥 Watch our interview with Jionna to learn more about MRSS and how we can help.

Back-to-school season can bring excitement, new beginnings—and sometimes a lot of stress. This Su***de Prevention & Awareness Day, we’re reminding parents: pay attention to the signs, and remember that mental health support doesn’t stop when the school bell rings. 💚📚

A new school year can bring anxiety, pressure, social challenges, changes in routine, and other emotions that may be difficult for children and teens to express. Parents, caregivers, and teachers can play an important role by noticing changes in behavior and creating a safe space for kids to talk about what they’re experiencing.

Parents, you may notice:
👀 Changes in mood or behavior
😟 Increased worry, anxiety, or irritability
📚 Trouble adjusting to school or changes in academic performance
🧍 Pulling away from friends or activities they normally enjoy
😴 Changes in sleep or energy
💬 Talking negatively about themselves or feeling hopeless
🆘 Signs of emotional distress or thoughts of su***de

Don’t ignore the signs. Start the conversation. Listen. Support. And know where to turn for help. 💚

That’s why Alta Behavioral Healthcare brings mental health support directly into the school setting.
Through our School-Based Services, we partner with school districts throughout Mahoning and Trumbull Counties to help students feel supported, build skills, and succeed both emotionally and academically. 🌱

📚 Learn more about Alta’s School-Based Services, like Classroom Connections and Linkages, at: https://altacaregroup.org/school-based-services/

These services are available FREE to schools in Mahoning and Trumbull Counties through funding from the Mahoning County Mental Health & Recovery Boards.

This school year, let's make sure our kids know they don't have to face stress, anxiety, or difficult feelings alone. Sometimes noticing a sign and starting a conversation can be the first step toward getting someone the support they need. 💚

🆘 If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health crisis or having thoughts of su***de, call or text 988.

This Su***de Prevention Month, let’s remember: early support matters, and no one should have to navigate a mental health crisis alone.🧠💚

For some adolescents and young adults, experiencing a first episode of psychosis can feel overwhelming, frightening, and isolating. That’s why Alta Behavioral Healthcare’s FIRST Episode Psychosis Program is focused on connecting young people and their families with specialized support as quickly as possible.

FIRST serves individuals ages 15–35 who have experienced their first episode of psychosis, with the goal of supporting recovery, strengthening family support, and reducing the risk of relapse and hospitalization. 🌱

Support may include:
🧠 Individual Resiliency Training
👨‍👩‍👧 Psycho-Family Education & Support
🩺 Psychiatric Care
🤝 Case Management
💼 Supportive Employment

During Su***de Prevention Month, we’re highlighting programs like FIRST because connecting someone with the right care can be an important part of protecting their mental health and helping them move forward.

And remember: If you or someone you know is struggling or experiencing a mental health crisis, call or text 988 for the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline. You are not alone. 💚

On today’s adventure with Lenny, Penny and Friends, we're learning how to spot and name our feelings! 😊😢😠

Lenny, Penny and Rosie are learning that our friends have BIG feelings, too—and sometimes we can figure out how someone feels by looking at their face and paying attention to their actions. 👀💛

😊 Happy
😟 Worried
😢 Sad
😠 Angry
😨 Scared
…and so many more!

When we STOP, NOTICE & NAME an emotion, we can think about what to do next. 💭✨

When Rosie realizes Lenny is feeling sad, she makes a kind choice—asking if they can share the dinosaur! And that helps turn Lenny's frown into a smile! 🥰 🦖

Then it's time for a super-fun game of Name That Emotion with Chicken!

🎥 Watch the newest episode and play along! Can you name all the emotions? 🌈💚

Kindness starts with the little things—and together, those little things can make a BIG impact. 💚🎒

Alta Care Group is proud to be part of United in Kindness, a nationwide movement bringing businesses, nonprofits, and community organizations together to complete and share the impact of 250 Acts of Kindness in honor of America’s 250th anniversary. 🇺🇸✨

This month, one of our acts of kindness was helping local families get ready for a new school year! 📚✏️ Through our Back 2 School Bash, we donated backpacks to children in our community to help them start the school year feeling prepared, supported, and confident. 🎒💚

It may seem like a small act, but when kindness is repeated and shared across communities, those small actions can create lasting impact.

We’re excited to continue finding ways to spread kindness, support our community, and make a difference—one act at a time. 🌱

Find out more about United in Kindness at www.USofKindness.org and share your own acts of kindness using and tagging USofKindness .
