Wednesday was a great day around here! Trish started us off with a taste test in the morning. Not only did we get to try all kinds of new things, but we also learned some healthy new habits. Then, our activity girls helped us make our own delicious ice cream on the porch after lunch. One of our events leading up to Memorial Day is our traditional Battleship Game. It’s always anticipated by all and is such a great multi-generational activity when we have guests! Thank you to all who played. And, as we look toward this very meaningful holiday, thank you to all who have served in our armed forces and to the families of those whom have served. Our thoughts and prayers are with all who have lost a loved one in service to our country as we commemorate their ultimate sacrifice this Monday.

Please join me in congratulating Jennifer Gibbons, LPN on being selected as the new Employee of the Month!! Jennifer is very focused on providing quality of care to our residents. Jenn advocates for all her residents and treats all the residents with compassion, dignity, and respect. Jenn is often observed going out of her way to provide extra care to the residents and assists her resident assistants with hands on care. Jenn is welcoming to everyone especially our new employees. Jenn believes and understands the residents come first and the importance of providing person-centered care. Jennifer is a team player and always comes to work with a positive attitude. In addition, Jenn has proven to be extremely dependable and has not reported off and arrives for her shift on time and ready to hit the floor. Congratulation Jenn on this well deserved honor! We are happy to have you on the Victoria House team!!

Despite the cooler weather, we still had an absolute blast at the annual YSU Day Game today! It’s always fun to be surrounded by all of our local schools cheering on our Penguins baseball team!

We also were completely impressed with some of our local school teachers who ensured all of their kids clean up after themselves before they left the ballpark today. We truly have some outstanding teachers and students in our community!
