She found a lump. She didn’t wait. 💙
Every family has a recipe worth passing down. But so often, the stories about our health are the ones we never share. This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’re asking women to change that.
Let’s share the knowledge too.
That’s why we’re launching a new series, Sharing Changes Everything. We asked Amber and Nicholas, a husband and wife, to share their experience of breast cancer in their own words.
Amber saw her gynae, then a breast surgeon. Both first thought it looked harmless, but something told her to keep asking. She trusted that instinct and asked to have it removed. Her cancer was borderline stage 2.
Today she is a breast cancer survivor.
“I’ve spoken to so many people who are afraid to go to the doctor in case they find something. I get it, I really do. But finding something early can save your life.”
If you’ve been putting something off because you’re scared, you’re not alone, and it’s okay to feel that way. Be gentle with yourself, and take the first small step. Tell someone you love how you’re feeling. Share the stories. Share the hope.
💬 When did you last talk to the women in your life about their health? Tell us below, or tag someone you’d like to start that conversation with.
Look out for the next part of the series next week, and for the full interview soon.
From 1 October to 15 November, we’re offering 30% off routine mammograms for private patients. Speak to your doctor about when a mammogram is right for you. To book, visit morton.co.za and click on “Make a booking”.
