From severe dependence to confident mobility in just 42 days.
At 71, Mrs Burr was admitted to Faircape Health Institute Somerset West following a left MCA stroke, presenting with significant mobility, balance, and communication challenges. She initially required assistance with most daily activities and was only able to walk short distances with support.
Through focused, interdisciplinary rehabilitation - including gait re-education, strengthening, balance training, and cognitive support - she made remarkable progress. By discharge, she was walking independently over 200 metres without a device, safely navigating stairs, and had regained a high level of independence.
A powerful example of perseverance, and the impact of dedicated, interdisciplinary care.
