For many women, intimate examinations are not “routine.”

They can feel vulnerable, confronting, anxiety-provoking — especially if you’ve had uncomfortable or difficult experiences in the past.

I believe good care is not only about diagnosis and treatment. It is also about how you are made to feel during the process.

You deserve to feel:
• listened to
• informed
• unhurried
• respected
• and in control of your own body and decisions

My aim is to create a calm, respectful environment where examinations are explained carefully, consent matters, and nothing is rushed.

Pelvic organ prolapse is common, but many women experience these symptoms quietly before seeking help.

Treatment does not always mean surgery. Options may include pelvic floor physiotherapy, pessary support, practical lifestyle changes, and surgery when conservative management is not enough.

A lot of women apologise before they even begin telling me what has been bothering them.

They apologise for taking up time.
For feeling embarrassed.
For not coming sooner.
For symptoms they have quietly managed for months or even years.

Menopause can affect more than hot flushes.

Many women expect hot flushes or night sweats — and for some, these settle with time. But the quieter effects of lower oestrogen levels can be easier to miss, or simply dismissed as “just ageing.”

This can include vaginal dryness, burning, discomfort, bladder urgency, needing to rush to the toilet, recurrent UTI-like symptoms, or recurrent vaginal irritation.

Some of these changes can begin in perimenopause, before periods have fully stopped.

Because these symptoms are not always spoken about openly, many women are left unsure whether help is available.

You don’t have to just live with it. Understanding what is happening is usually the first step.
