A warm welcome to Dr Smith who will be joining us on a part time basis!
Dr Desree Smith completed her MBChB at the University of Pretoria in 2022. She gained broad clinical experience during her internship in Pietermaritzburg and completed her community service in the Ophthalmology Department at Potchefstroom Hospital, where she developed a strong interest in eye care.
She enjoys providing compassionate, patient-centred care and is committed to practicing evidence-based medicine. She continues to expand her knowledge and skills through ongoing professional development.
She is dedicated to building trusting relationships with her patients and strives to ensure that every patient feels heard, informed, and well cared for.
Outside of work, Dr Smith was recently married and enjoy spending quality time with her husband, playing board games and roadtriping. She is also an avid reader who loves getting lost in a good book.
