Our residents get to enjoy the fresh air, notice the colours around them, spot the blooms tucked between the greenery and share those small moments of wonder together.

It is a gentle reminder that joy does not always come from big occasions. Sometimes, it is found in a flower, a sunny path and the pleasure of discovering beauty right where you are 🌈

Our Dance Yoga sessions at Damant Lodge are more than gentle movement.

They are moments of joy, confidence and connection for our residents. A familiar song, a hand moving to the rhythm, a smile shared across the room.

These are the little things that remind us how powerful it is to feel included, active and alive 🧘‍♀️💆

On Wednesday, 27 May, some of our carers and board members had the privilege of attending a wonderful Dementia Workshop presented by Santa van Rooyen at MyPond Stenden Hotel**** .

The workshop was both insightful and informative, providing valuable knowledge and practical guidance on dementia care and support.

At Damant Lodge, we believe in continuously upskilling our staff and expanding our knowledge to ensure we provide the very best care, compassion, and understanding to our residents in an ever-evolving world.

A heartfelt thank you to Santa van Rooyen for sharing her expertise and passion with us. It was truly a meaningful and enriching experience for all who attended 🌷

There’s something so lovely about movie nights at Damant Lodge 🎥🍿

They give our residents a chance to sit back, relax and enjoy a good story together, but it’s more than just watching a film. It’s the laughter, the chatting afterwards and the feeling of sharing a simple, happy moment with friends.

We always say these little activities make such a big difference in daily life here.

What a wonderful afternoon of music at Damant Lodge 🎶💙

We were delighted to welcome the talented learners from Victoria Girls’ High School to perform their Variety Music Concert. What a treat it was for our residents.

We were delighted to welcome the Stenden South Africa students to Damant Lodge after their thoughtful fundraising initiative on campus. Through selling cards, flowers and sweets to fellow students, they raised funds to bring something special to our residents 💙

Their visit included beautiful donations of wool and knitting needles for our ladies, a gift that will bring creativity, comfort and joy to many peaceful afternoons at Damant Lodge 🧶

Thank you to the Stenden students for sharing your time, kindness and generosity with our residents. It was a truly special visit, and one we are so grateful for.

Movement, music, and plenty of smiles at Damant Lodge. 💃🧘‍♀️

Our residents enjoyed a wonderful Danca Yoga class, and we were so happy to see such a great turnout. These classes are about so much more than exercise. They help our residents stay active, connect with one another, and enjoy a fun, uplifting activity together.

A big thank you to everyone who joined in and made the class such a joyful experience. We look forward to many more moments like this at Damant Lodge ✨

Our residents had such a wonderful time getting their hands dirty, creating beautiful pieces and enjoying a fun, relaxed morning together 🎨🖌️

It was lovely to see everyone’s personalities shine through in their artwork, with lots of laughter, conversation and creativity filling the room.

A special thank you to Ruth Gibson for running such a lovely class and sharing your time, talent, and guidance with our residents 🤍

With winter approaching, we recently had the privilege of donating 80 handmade blankets that the Knitting Ladies have worked tirelessly to make for those less fortunate 🧶

Some of the organisations we donated these blankets to were the Port Alfred Soup Kitchen and Bathurst Soup Kitchen, Loaves and Fishes, Huiz Dias and Marjorie Parrish Santa Centre.
