We are excited to welcome Dr Norman Lester to Zuid-Afrikaans Hospital.

Dr Lester is an experienced Interventional Cardiologist who brings extensive expertise in advanced cardiac care and complex interventional procedures.

He completed his MBChB and MMed in Internal Medicine at the University of Pretoria, followed by a Fellowship in Cardiology at Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital. During his fellowship, he gained specialised experience in interventional cardiology, echocardiography, permanent pacemakers and ICD devices. He obtained his Certificate in Cardiology (SA) in 2010.

Dr Lester's extensive procedural experience includes coronary angioplasty and stenting, diagnostic angiography, TAVI (trans aortic valve implantation), chronic total occlusion (CTO), interventions, rotablation, FFR (functional flow ratio) and other complex interventional procedures. He has also been involved in proctoring complex cardiac procedures and sharing his expertise through presentations and training with Boston Scientific.

With a career spanning academic and private practice environments, Dr Lester continues to contribute his knowledge and specialised skills to the field of interventional cardiology.
