In May we celebrate Global Move for Health Day — a WHO initiative that highlights the importance of physical activity for long-term wellbeing.
Research has established associations between physical inactivity and conditions such as coronary artery calcification, hepatic steatosis, reduced bone mineral density, and degenerative joint changes. It is important to note that these conditions are multifactorial — influenced by age, genetics, and a range of lifestyle factors. Where clinically indicated by a treating clinician, imaging modalities such as CT, ultrasound, DEXA, X-ray, and MRI may assist in identifying relevant findings as part of a broader clinical assessment.
M&D Radiology supports the message that physical activity is an important part of overall health. We provide imaging services at Johannesburg Surgical Hospital and Hoedspruit Private Hospital.
