You might see them around the clinic and they may come and say hello 👋

Hard to wait during games? Your child isn’t being naughty. Their brain just needs a little practice hitting “pause” ⏳

Here are 4 gentle ways to make turn-taking easier:
1️⃣ Ask what they need first: a few minutes to explore or play solo today?
2️⃣ Make the wait visible: sand timers or turn cards help time feel manageable.
3️⃣ Keep their hands busy: fidgets are perfect for those wiggles.
4️⃣ Start small: short games, small waits, big wins for learning patience!

With the right support, kids can learn to wait and play with others. And that’s exactly what we love helping them do in OT🌟

That's exactly what our Calm Down Toolbox is all about. 🧰

In OT, we don't tell children how to calm down — we invite them to discover what already helps. Because every strategy is valid, and every child is different.

When kids build their own personalised toolbox, they learn something really powerful. That they are capable of managing big feelings with the right tools around them.

Most people think regulation is a two-step journey, but there's a beautiful middle step that changes everything.

Big feelings don’t come out of nowhere 🌋
They build… and build… until boom.

Our Feelings Volcano helps kids see what’s happening before the meltdown:
✨ calm = lava low
✨ small triggers make it rise
✨ unmet needs = eruption

With our worksheets, kids learn to spot triggers and name their emotions — calm, sad, stressed, angry — so they can manage feelings before they overflow.
