You might have noticed that Simon, Sherry and Lauren disappeared from the studio for a few days…

Don’t worry - they haven’t gone anywhere and Simon hasn’t disappeared overseas again! They’ve just been busy doing a 50-hour Yin Teacher Training with Mel McLaughlin.

It was a few intense days of learning, practising, exploring and - of course - spending more than a little (read: a lot) of time in Yin poses. 😅

The training went deep into the philosophy and principles of Yin Yoga; broke down its effects on the body and fascia; looked at different ways of working with postures; and there were plenty of new ideas and approaches to bring back into the studio.

So if you see Simon, Sherry or Lauren looking a little more relaxed than usual… that might be why.

A huge thank you to Mel McLaughlin from The Yin Space for sharing her knowledge, experience and passion for Yin with us. We’ve come away with lots to think about - and even more to share with you.

Now… back to the studio to share some Yin knowledge!

FINDING CALM WITHIN THE CHAOS 🕊️

Life doesn’t always slow down just because we need it to.

The to-do list keeps growing. Your mind keeps racing. There’s always something else to do, somewhere else to be, someone else who needs something from you.

But what if calm isn’t something we have to wait for?

Finding Calm Within the Chaos is a 5-week journey designed to help you step out of overwhelm, quieten a busy mind and reconnect with a sense of inner steadiness.

🗓️ Saturday 31 October – Saturday 28 November
⏰ 2:15–3:30pm each Saturday
📍 yogafusion, 14 The Parade, Norwood

Through mindfulness meditation, body-based awareness and self-compassion practices, we’ll explore practical tools to help you feel calmer, more grounded and more resilient in everyday life.

You don’t need to be good at meditation.
You don’t need to have a quiet mind.
You just need to be ready to pause.

✨ 9D Breathwork | LIBERATION ✨

Sometimes we carry things long after they’ve served their purpose.

Patterns. Emotions. Old stories. Ways of protecting ourselves that once made sense, but perhaps don’t anymore.

Liberation is a powerful 9D Breathwork journey created to help you reconnect with your strength, move through what you’ve been carrying, and create space for what comes next.

Beginning gently, we’ll settle into the body before moving into deep, connected breathing and a sustained period of activation. Along the way, powerful coaching explores resilience, survival, self-trust and the parts of us that are ready to let go.

And then, after the intensity, comes the exhale.
A return to slow breathing.
A moment to settle, feel and integrate. 🤍

If something in you is ready for a shift, this might be your invitation.

A huge thank you to Dr Heather Waterfall and Kat Warr from Ivoryrose Physiotherapy - - for an amazing and incredibly informative talk at our Mindfully Managing Menopause afternoon. 💛

And thank you to everyone who came along, shared the afternoon with us, and helped make it such a lovely event.

The fact that so many people stayed for another hour afterwards, continuing the conversation, asking questions and sharing experiences, really showed us just how much the afternoon resonated with people.

We’re also incredibly grateful for the generosity of everyone who attended and donated, helping us raise $250 for RizeUp Australia - - and supporting their important work helping families affected by domestic and family violence. 💛

Thank you everyone for making the afternoon so special! 🙏✨

Thinking about starting yoga but feeling a little nervous? You’re not alone. 💛

Almost every beginner has concerns before their first class. The good news is that most of them disappear once you step onto the mat and experience yoga for yourself.

Here are 5 common worries we hear all the time:

🧘 “I’m not flexible enough.”
This is probably the biggest misconception about yoga.

You don’t need to be flexible to start yoga. Flexibility is something that develops through regular practice. You simply begin where you are today.

✨ “What if I’m doing the poses wrong?”
There is no such thing as a perfect pose.

Yoga teachers offer options and modifications to suit different bodies, abilities, and experience levels. Yoga is less about looking a certain way and more about how the practice feels in your body.

🌿 “I won’t be able to keep up.”
Yoga isn’t a competition.

You’re always encouraged to rest when needed, take breaks, and move at your own pace. There’s no expectation to match anyone else in the room.

📅 “I’m not consistent enough.”
Many people think they need a perfect routine before they begin.

In reality, consistency grows naturally over time. Even one or two classes each week can create meaningful changes in how you feel.

🔥 “Aren’t all yoga classes basically the same?”
Not at all.

From calming Yin Yoga to flowing Vinyasa and energising Hot Yoga, every style offers a different experience. Exploring different classes can help you discover what suits you best.

If you’re new to yoga, keep it simple:

✔️ Start with beginner-friendly or mixed-level classes
✔️ Try a few different styles
✔️ Focus on consistency, not perfection
✔️ Give yourself permission to learn

Everyone starts somewhere. The hardest part is often just walking through the door for the first time.

🌅 Morning Yoga or 🌙 Evening Yoga?

One of the most common questions people ask when starting yoga is: What’s the best time to practise?

The answer? Both morning and evening yoga offer unique benefits. The best choice depends on your lifestyle, goals, and what your body needs.

✨ Morning yoga can help you:
• Wake up the body
• Clear the mind
• Set a positive intention for the day
• Build a consistent routine

Many people find that a morning practice leaves them feeling more focused, grounded, and energised throughout the day.

🌙 Evening yoga can help you:
• Release stress and tension
• Unwind after a busy day
• Calm the nervous system
• Support better sleep

It’s the perfect way to slow down and create space before bedtime.

So which should you choose?

☀️ Want more energy? Try morning yoga.
🌙 Looking to relax? Evening yoga may be your answer.
💛 Want to build consistency? Choose the time that realistically fits your schedule.

The truth is, the best yoga practice is the one you can return to regularly.

Many students enjoy a mix of both, adjusting their practice based on work commitments, energy levels, stress, and sleep quality.

Yoga is flexible by nature — your schedule can be too.

When do you prefer to practise: morning or evening? Let us know below 👇

Walking into a yoga studio for the first time can feel a little intimidating. The good news? At yogafusion, you don’t need any experience to get started.

When you arrive, you’ll simply check in, set up your mat, take a moment to settle in, and then be guided through the class step-by-step. No pressure. No expectations. Just support.

✨ Every class includes:
• Guided movement and postures

• A relaxing wind-down at the end

One of the biggest myths about yoga is that you need to be flexible or fit before you start.

You don’t.

✨ The Secret To Getting The Most From Your Yoga Practice 🤍

One of the biggest challenges people face when starting yoga isn’t the poses — it’s consistency.

Many people leave a class feeling amazing, but struggle to build a regular practice.

The truth is: yoga benefits don’t come from doing the most. They come from showing up regularly. ✨

🌿 Why consistency matters more than intensity

One powerful class can feel great, but lasting change happens over time.

A regular yoga practice can help:

🤍 Support a calmer nervous system
🤍 Build strength and mobility gradually
🤍 Improve sleep and stress management
🤍 Create healthier movement patterns

Even 1–2 classes a week can create meaningful change.

✨ Why people struggle to stay consistent

Common challenges include:

• Busy schedules
• Expecting too much too soon
• Waiting to feel motivated
• Feeling unsure which class to choose

The answer isn’t more willpower — it’s creating a routine that works for you.

🌙 How to build a sustainable yoga habit

Try:

✨ Choosing a regular weekly class time
✨ Starting with styles you enjoy
✨ Booking ahead to create commitment
✨ Keeping expectations realistic

Yoga works best when it becomes part of your lifestyle, not something you only do when you have time.

🤍 Consistency becomes easier with support

A structured membership can help create:

🌿 Routine
🌿 Accountability
🌿 The freedom to explore different class styles

Your practice doesn’t need to be perfect.

It just needs to be consistent.

🌿 What Is Vinyasa Flow Yoga? 🤍

Vinyasa Flow is one of the most popular styles of yoga — combining movement, breath and mindfulness into a flowing practice.

For many students, it’s the perfect balance between strength and calm. ✨

🌿 What is Vinyasa Flow?

Vinyasa means “to place in a special way” — referring to the intentional connection between movement and breath.

In a Vinyasa class, you’ll typically:

✨ Flow through a sequence of postures
✨ Move with your inhale and exhale
✨ Build warmth and energy in the body
✨ Finish with grounding and relaxation

🧘‍♀️ What does a Vinyasa class feel like?

A Vinyasa Flow class is often:

🤍 Energising
🤍 Rhythmic
🤍 Creative and varied
🤍 Physically engaging without feeling repetitive

Every body is different — you’re always encouraged to modify, rest and move at your own pace.

✨ Benefits of Vinyasa Yoga

A regular practice can support:

🌿 Strength and stability
🌿 Flexibility and mobility
🌿 Fitness and energy
🌿 Focus and breath awareness

It’s a practice that strengthens both body and mind.

🌙 Vinyasa is perfect if you:

✨ Enjoy movement-based exercise
✨ Like variety in your classes
✨ Want a moderate physical challenge
✨ Want to build strength and coordination

Whether you’re new to yoga or looking to deepen your practice, Vinyasa Flow offers a space to move, breathe and reconnect.
