We've reached more exciting milestones in the construction of our newest clinic, with works now reaching Level 2 formwork and moving ahead at pace.

Recent milestones achieved include:
- Multiple major concrete pours completed
- Key structural columns installed
- Carpark ramp and core structural works progressed
- Continued superstructure works across the site

Upcoming works include:
- Further structural concrete works
- Installation of precast walls and lift shafts
- Commencement of the next floor level

We remain on track for completion around Easter 2027.

Improving access to care doesn’t happen in isolation. It happens when people like Catherine Fitzsimmons, Partnerships Manager QLD, and John Knights, General Manager Strategy and Lived Experience, connect, learn and work with others in the field to fight for better outcomes.

At AddictionZ 2026, Catherine and John had many important conversations with others working across addiction treatment, mental health, trauma recovery, veteran care and community support.

Connecting with clinicians, researchers, healthcare providers, community organisations, peer workers and lived-experience advocates from across Australia and New Zealand help us strengthen referral pathways, build meaningful partnerships and better understand where people and families are still facing barriers to care.

A key theme throughout the conference was the growing need for integrated, trauma-informed care, and the importance of services staying connected around the needs of each person. This is something we deeply believe in at Avive, and it's encouraging to connect with other organisations working towards the same goal.

Welcome to Avive Clinic Adelaide – a calming, contemporary space delivering quality mental health care with warmth and dignity.

We’re proud to be constructing our first South Australian hospital in the heart of Adelaide, located at 272–300 Wakefield Street. Avive Clinic Adelaide will bring 60 new private mental health beds to the CBD, alongside onsite psychiatrist consultation suites and dedicated day program therapy spaces.

Adelaide is Avive Health’s fourth private mental health hospital nationally, joining Brisbane, Mornington Peninsula and the soon-to-open, Melbourne.

At Avive, we believe mental health care should combine science with sanctuary - expert, evidence-based and clinically led care that is delivered in an environment that promotes healing.

That means care shaped by psychiatrists and interdisciplinary teams, with recovery pathways designed to support people during admission, through day programs and beyond discharge.

Avive Clinic Adelaide will support people experiencing mood and anxiety disorders, trauma, and substance use concerns, with programs that bring together clinical treatment, practical recovery planning and whole-person supports including nutrition, movement, sleep and wellbeing.

The new hospital has been designed with recovery in mind - from calm communal spaces and circadian lighting, to wellness-focused amenities including a TechnoGym-equipped fitness studio, every detail is intended to support mental and physical wellbeing.

For us, this is about creating more choice, more access and a new kind of private mental health care for South Australians.

The traditional mental health system is no longer enough and people deserve more connected, innovative and supportive care pathways.

Last week, Avive Health welcomed psychiatrists and registrars from across Australia to our “Future of Psychiatry” event during the 2026 RANZCP Congress, where important conversations focused on the future of mental health care, continuity beyond discharge, and emerging therapies for people experiencing complex or treatment-resistant conditions.

At Avive, we believe recovery should not stop at discharge. We are building a connected ecosystem of care designed to support patients through the full mental health journey - from inpatient treatment through to ongoing recovery and relapse prevention.

While our purpose-built Adelaide hospital is currently under development, South Australian patients can already access inpatient care through Avive Clinic Mornington Peninsula, with support including airport transfers on arrival to help make the process feel as seamless and supported as possible.

Patients can also access psychiatry and mental health support from home through Cloud Clinic by Avive, our national telehealth service designed to improve access to care across Australia.
