🎨 A little bit of community connection

We love the Community Connection Checkpoint at The Alternate Root in Uralla — take a little artwork, leave a little artwork.

We noticed the canvases weren’t changing much and wondered if people simply didn’t have the supplies at home to make one. So we made some free mini paint kits — canvas, brushes and paints included. 💜

Take a kit. Make some art. Bring it back. Keep the connection going.

A new inclusive community event is coming to Armidale!

The New England Community Showcase will celebrate the skills, talents and contributions of people with disability from across our region, with stalls, performances, activities and community connections.

What a success our July Mixer — Live @ Legacy Hall — was! 🎉

More than 60 people joined us, and together we raised over $700 for Special Olympics New England North West.

We really appreciate you helping spread the word and look forward to collaborating on the New England Community Showcase.

A growing community initiative is helping strengthen social connection and inclusion across Armidale, with The Monthly Mixer - Armidale All Access Social Events continuing to expand and attract new participants.

The Monthly Mixer provides welcoming, accessible social gatherings where people can meet others, build genuine friendships, and enjoy being part of the community. While the events are particularly suited to people with disability and those seeking to broaden their social networks, the initiative is open to all community members.

The program’s community‑led design is central to its success. Each event is shaped by the people who attend, creating a relaxed, friendly environment that reflects the interests and needs of the community. This approach has helped establish a space where attendees feel comfortable, included and connected.

Organisers encourage new attendees to come along, meet others and help shape future events. Community members who have participated in past Mixers are invited to share their experiences to support ongoing development.
