Physiology Testing Day

Following a recent injury and gradual return to running, I wanted to see where things currently stand.

Results:
VO2max: 75.1 mL/kg/min
VT1: 5:13 min/km
VT2: 4:25 min/km

The results reinforce an important principle of endurance performance: capacity and capability are not always the same thing. The aerobic foundation remains strong, the task now is to rebuild the fitness required to fully utilise it.

A good reminder that performance is about more than a single number.

Most marathon runners train by feel, by pace, or by a generic plan they found online.

The problem? None of those tell you what's actually happening physiologically.
