Another day, another patient spotlight. 6 weeks and some impressive results here!!

This gorgeous human was pretty impressed with herself also, which makes it even better. I think that’s one of the best parts, seeing the person infront of me, beam with joy after they walk in thinking they have not achieved much, yet after we go through our measurables and they realise they have in-fact improved, that glimmer in their eye starts to shine brighter.

Small, incremental shifts, slowly but surely, really do change lives 😍. How lucky am I, to be alongside many of you in this journey of your life. I will forever pinch myself to be privileged enough to be a small part of your life. Thank you 💛

I’m breaking up my normal feed with something I feel very strongly about.

Today is IDAHOBIT….as a q***r woman myself, a mum, and a clinician, this day matters does matter to me. I’m a femme-presenting le***an with three children, which means I’m often met with the assumption. I understand where that comes from, it is the story society has always defaulted to, but the language and assumptions we lead with really do need to shift.

I will be honest (as always), I haven’t lived through the judgement and abuse so so many in our community carry daily. I truly hold that with awareness, it genuinely makes me sick that in 2026 so many people are still met without care or thoughtful language, especially in spaces meant to support them. I know that discomfort shows up in clinical rooms too, I do hear this often from people is see regularly. That feeling of the bracing before a consult with a practitioner or GP and the rehearsal of what to share and what not too, will they judge me, won’t they… will it make a difference on how they treat me… That bracing has a real impact and your body was never meant to feel like that in the spaces that are meant to help it heal and help you.

So today I want to acknowledge you all in the community, as a q***r woman and as a clinician, my space will always be without judgement, without assumption and 100% without conditions. You are seen and are welcome here. Also a reminder of you ever do feel judged or discriminated, please do look for another practitioner. 💛

Mother’s Day for me are my 3 boys. 💛💛💛 The chaos & the constant feeding of teenage appetites & the constant quiet chats that catch me off guard. I never know what’s going to come out of their mouth tbh. It’s also the responsibility I feel every day to raise them into men who feel things, name things and know that being a boy is not a weakness. I think a lot about what we quietly teach boys about emotions, and that’s not through giving them a lecture, but through what I model, I welcome or shut down in the small everyday moments as I know they are watching and listening always.

My goal has never been to raise “tough” boys, it has been to raise boys who feel safe enough to name what they are experiencing before their body has to express it for them. Anger, withdrawal, shutdown, anxiety & risk taking can be common I know, but as I am slowly learning, these are not who their personalities are, often if that pops up, it’s unmet emotional needs with no language yet attached. In clinic I don’t see men who are too emotional, I see men who were never shown that emotions were allowed and whose bodies have been carrying that load for decades.

The body responds to suppression with tension, mood changes and eventually burnout. There is still an outdated “man box” running the show, I can’t believe that term is around. These are rules that men must be strong, self sufficient, and quiet under pressure. These rules do not build resilience, they build disconnection and they often surface later as anxiety, depression, or complete shutdown.

Vulnerability does not make boys any lesser as men, emotional literacy does not weaken them, it strengthens regulation, connection, self trust and to seek help when needed. What if we measured strength by how early someone asks for support? What if emotional awareness was seen as a life skill not weak?

So today on Mother’s Day, this is how I’m feeling. I feel it a privilege to be the woman who gets to model every day ( & bang on about it too often) that emotions are allowed in this house, that asking for help is strength and softness and gentleness can live in them. These three boys are my why. Happy mothers to all of you 💛

Since you all seemed to love hearing about patient wins, I’ll sneak in another dedicated humans progress this week.

This amazing woman had stuck to her 3 focus points in her plan like glue over the 8 weeks. Consistency is truly the gold star here. She walked out of the clinic room with her head held high and I was left feeling warm and fuzzy 😍.

It could be one improvement, it could be multiple, and to be honest, it may even be that a person has maintained and still shown up to the appointment, that in itself is a win, because it demonstrates the person is advocating for their health and they are willing to continue to work on themselves.

With consistently chatting all things women’s nervous system support, it was timely that I wrote about perimenopause again. Please save this for yourself, or for the woman in your life who keeps saying “I don’t feel like myself anymore.”

Firstly, perimenopause is not a disease, it’s a transition, a whole-body, neuroendocrine recalibration that is similar to puberty and those teen years, but with none of the cultural permission to fall apart while it’s happening!

Teenagers get snacks, lowered expectations, and years of grace. Women in their 40s are expected to keep running businesses, raising kids, and staying cool, calm, and collected, while their brain chemistry, sleep, and hormones undergo the biggest shift since they were thirteen!!

Swipe through and see if you find yourself somewhere on this map I have provided, but please hear me on three things: some women genuinely sail through this with no symptoms, that is valid too. Some women feel everything, but not on this timeline, the age brackets are guides, not rules, and symptoms are not your destiny, they are signals, and there is so much you can influence with the right support.

You’re not declining beautiful human, you’re transitioning into a new, carefree, powerful, chapter in your life.

In a platform full of differing views, opinions, facts and fibs, I understand that we as consumers are presented with so much information about “health and wellness” and the words and information begin to be clear as mud for many…….is that how you feel when you jump on here sometimes? I know I certainly do. It can be overwhelming.

Misinformation is being shared left, right and centre. I understand how frustrating and hard it can be to trust what is put in front of you or maybe even too easy to trust? All I will say is… do your research, don’t be influenced by what a friend of a friend of a cousin of an aunt did, or the perfectly put together woman that is promoting a supplement shares with you, that cured her insomnia in 3 days….

Before you buy a product, a protocol, a package or a digital download, please be mindful. With that, I will also say, there are sooooooo many amazing humans on here sharing free, educational information that they studied years for. Wanting to give back to the community to try and w**d out the misinformation that is being spread. This is the realm of social media I guess.

Righto, let’s get real! I never do giveaways! let’s be honest, it’s not really something clinicians do 🤷🏻‍♀️. I do also like to go against the grain. The last few weeks have been incredibly busy with more and more beautiful souls coming into clinic and online… and with that, I’ve been seeing over and over again the great need for supporting stress levels, anxiety, gut changes, hormonal irregularities…. And why??? They are all in a constant state of stress. I realise I’ve evolved over time to see these people, so I guess I’m attracting more of you that feel this way.

As a result, I truly have felt the stronger desire to see you thrive, being able to cope with the high demands of your business or career, because many of you are running subpar because you are in a constant state of fight or flight! I want you to feel the energy, the resilience and the full capability you deserve! You ask and I deliver. Here is the case of a beautiful woman I am currently seeing. She definitely deserves the spotlight for on my grid, I couldn’t be any prouder. I know I am meant to be professional, but anyone that knows me, also knows I’m an emotional being, and yep, I shared a tear with this woman when she started sharing her progress in only 5 weeks.

Getting bloods was fundamental here, as we could really see what was driving her concerns. There were deficiencies and insulin resistance with a severe case of low ferritin.

We are working on functional foods that she actually likes, and realistic lifestyle tools and movement. The thing is, if someone was to get the same treatment plan and the same script every time, results would not happen, and that is why it is so important to get an individualised patient plan. What works for one may not work for another. (Or shared on socials 😉)

Anyway, I could go on forever about how proud I am of this amazing human…. I’m so excited to see her health markers and optimal wellbeing improve in the coming months!

I hope you also enjoy reading the wins of patients as they are literally adding years onto their lives by addressing these health conditions before it’s too late.

A little clinical insight into my screening process when I’m working through your case. I would not be doing all of these, rather, I’d be choosing or suggesting what would best benefit us in optimising your health and getting to the root cause of what’s happening.

Please remember you can always ask your GP for any blood work, but they have to see good reasoning. This is why I prefer to send you for testing after our initial consult rather than prior. We have then had good chat, I have gone through your entire history and your GP will hopefully see our thought process. As I mentioned in the slides, if we can’t get the test we want, then we can organise them privately.

I hope this gives you a greater insight into what may be driving your issues,l. Isn’t not just that you have a heavy load on you, and you are working too hard, I mean you are probably experiencing that too, yet alongside those things, what’s happening on the inside is also driving your current feels.
