What is MGO and why is it so special?

MGO stands for Methalglyoxal which is a naturally occurring antibacterial and anti-inflammatory compound in Manuka honey. The higher the MGO number the higher concentration of MGO in the Manuka honey. The faster acting the antibacterial power of the honey is and the more rare and expensive the honey is it.

Manuka honey is scientifically proven to be used for many health condition both topically (on the skin) and internally for oral care and digestive health.

In 2023, the Australian Manuka Honey Association won a court case in NZ to for Australian businesses to use the word Manuka. The use of the word has been contentious for some time, but this court case showed the history of the word coming to Australia.

We like to think of it as a celebration of the continuation of Maori words in todays language.

Life of a small business owner can be really free and fun but also make one crazy!!

Mullum Plum X Manuka like a healthy jam!

Mullum Plum AKA Davidson Plum is the plum we use, harvested locally from our friends. Mullum Plum is so high in Vitamin C and antioxidants better for you than blueberries.
