💜 WE HAVE CAPACITY | ACT, YOUNG & SURROUNDS

Behind every NDIS plan is a person.

A person with goals. Preferences. Good days. Hard days. A sense of humour. A life.

At Your Best Support, we believe support should be built around the individual — not the other way around.

We currently have capacity for new participants across the ACT, Young and surrounding areas, with flexible supports designed around each person’s needs, goals and everyday life.

Our services include:

* Personal care and assistance with self-care
* Community access and social participation
* Psychosocial and mental health support
* Supported Independent Living (SIL)
* In-home and daily living support
* Domestic assistance, cleaning and decluttering
* Capacity building and independent living skills
* Transport and support to attend appointments and activities
* Medication prompts and routine support
* Respite and short-term support
* Support coordination
* Employment readiness and employment support
* Weekly group activities in Young
* Implementation of Positive Behaviour Support Plans
* Individualised 1:1 support

Whether someone is looking for more independence, greater connection in the community, help building confidence, support at home or a reliable team around them, we focus on what matters to that person.

Because support should never feel like a checklist.

It should feel personal, respectful and genuinely useful.

Sometimes the simplest feedback says the most.

At Your Best Support, we believe good support starts with seeing the whole person — their goals, preferences, strengths and what matters to them.

Person-centred support should feel human. Because people deserve to be treated like people.

There are some things you can say about your own business… and then there are the things that matter far more — what the people you support say when you’re not in the room.

During our recent audit, participants were invited to provide feedback directly to our auditors about their experience with Your Best Support.

This is what they said:

“They go into details, and understand the person as a whole.”

“Their staff are really well trained, and a great match.”

“Very thorough, they know exactly what I need.”

“Really good experience with them, and I’ve had bad experiences elsewhere before, so I know the difference.”

“She is great at what she does. She really takes responsibility to make sure that things happen.”

“They treat people like people.”

“I’ve been with them a long time. They are 10 out of 10.”

“It’s when things get down that I notice the most — they cheer me up.”

For us, this is what quality support should look like.

Not just turning up for a shift. Not just completing tasks. It’s understanding the person, building trust, finding the right staff match and creating support that genuinely makes a difference in someone’s life.

We are incredibly proud of our team and even more grateful to the participants who trusted us enough to share their experience.

Person-centred support isn’t something we put in a policy. It should be something people actually feel.

💜 Em and the team at Your Best Support, thanking you all and continuing to Support people. Building trust. Doing things properly.

Canberra, we’d love your input. 💜

On Thursday, 1 October, Your Best Support and NextGenLeaders are bringing the community together for an NDIS Community Conversation — an evening focused on connection, lived experience and having meaningful conversations about the changes happening across the NDIS.

But before the event, we want to hear from you:

What would you like to see from a Canberra networking event like this?
What conversations do you think our disability and NDIS community needs to be having right now?

We’re particularly keen to hear from people with lived experience — participants, families, carers, providers and people working across the sector. This isn’t about sitting through another room full of presentations. It’s about creating space for real conversations, different perspectives and stronger community connections.

📅 Thursday, 1 October 2026
⏰ 5:30pm – 8:30pm
📍 Level 3, 4 Mort Street, Canberra City
🎟️ Bookings will be available through Humanitix

We’ll also have guest speakers and an opportunity for Q&A and open discussion throughout the evening.

Drop your thoughts below — we genuinely want the community to help shape what this event becomes.

Your voice. Your experience. Our community. Our future.

LAST CHANCE TO APPLY!

Friends, if you are disabled and want to apply to be a part of a new disability talk show with C31 Melbourne and Geelong, applications are CLOSING!

All roles are paid and specifically for those who have a disability. If you're interested in being a:
-Guest
-Lived experience committee member
-Social media coordinator
-PR/marketing coordinator
-Assistant producer

PLEASE apply. And please share!

Disabled people, especially those who are multiply marginalised, are rarely represented in media--and it's even rarer for that media to be entirely disability led. Everyone on my project will be disabled, prioritising multiply marginalised people.

I WISH I could hire everyone, but sadly I can only hire a few! The coordinator and producer roles are contract, probably varying around 10-30 hours total.

Lived experience committee members will have five online hour-long meetings.

Guest appearances will be maybe an hour on the day, plus some pre-filming interviews.

I plan to hire the coordinators and producer first, so if that's what you're keen for, please apply ASAP!

Apply via the form link (IN COMMENTS) OR via email at [email protected]

Please tell me who you are, what you do, why you'd be a good fit, examples of work and ideally a CV!

PS if you've already applied, yay!!!! I aim to get back to everyone in the next week or two (might need a little more time than that tbh!!!! it's a lot). But I aim to get back to you regardless of outcome, and I'm thinking of ways people can still be involved even if they don't get the roles they applied for. PLUS if this goes well, season 2 could be on the horizon?!?!?!

Anyway, please help spread the word!

PPS: if you have zero spoons but wanna still be considered, pls also email. I get it. We can have some flexibility!

Love you all, thank you for helping me create this

📣 WE’RE HIRING – DISABILITY SUPPORT WORKERS | CANBERRA 📣

Your Best Support is growing, and we’re looking for some brilliant new Disability Support Workers to join our Canberra team! 💜

We have permanent casual positions available, with regular ongoing work for the right people.

We’re looking for people who are reliable, confident, compassionate and genuinely enjoy supporting people to live their lives their way.

We’d love to hear from you if you:
✨ Have experience in disability or community support
✨ Are reliable and actually show up when you say you will
✨ Can work independently and use your initiative
✨ Have excellent communication skills
✨ Understand that great support is about empowering people and building independence
✨ Want regular ongoing work with a supportive, growing team

You’ll need the relevant worker screening/checks, First Aid/CPR, a driver’s licence and reliable transport.

We have a variety of participants, support needs and shift times available across Canberra.

Most importantly, we’re looking for the right people. Experience is fantastic, but attitude, reliability and genuine care for the people you support matter enormously to us.
