Canberra, since we opened you have donated over 600 sheets and pillowcases to support us with the people we care for. We're hoping this long weekend might be a good time to sort through your linen cupboard - we'd love any spares you have. We are very sad to have the wonderful Bec Curtin leaving our team. Bec is also a trained counsellor and is starting her own practice. We know she will continue to be of immense service to our community in her new role. Bec has brought such kindness, good humour and compassion to her time as a funeral director with us. We're not losing her entirely - we have some ideas for how to keep her involved - but we're definitely going to miss her. (In good news, though, we have a new staff member starting very soon whom we are keen to introduce you to... stay tuned!

We had a great day at the Senors and Better Aging Expo run by COTA ACT . We had so many conversations we didn't even get time to encourage folks to visit! But this year the expo is over TWO days, so come tomorrow morning to talk to us and the many, many exhibitors here to help our community live and age well. We're up the top near the performers.

Celebrating the life of
Bridget Thorpe

18/06/1958 – 13/08/2026

Bridget (Biddy) Thorpe passed away in Canberra on the 13th August 2026. She leaves behind a legacy of love including six children and their partners, 16 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends, spread across four continents. She will be missed.

A service will be held at: Gungahlin Cemetery and Crematorium at The Memorial Hall

Celebrating the life of

Lesly Gorbach

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Lesly Gorbach, who had reached her 100th year.

Lesly was a sociable, generous and charitable person ,a fond wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and she was very focused on her family in her final years.

A service to celebrate Lesly’s life will be held at St Thomas Aquinas Church, Lhotsky St, Charnwood on Wednesday the 29th of April commencing at 12:00pm

Please join us for a wake to send her off with joy at the Canberra Labor Club, at the Charnwood shops.
