Hi there, we would really love your support

We are raising money for a cause close to our heart and would love your support. Your contribution will help Childhood Cancer Support to continue to provide accommodation and support not only at our existing services but also the transition to our newly purchased houses in East Brisbane – within walking distance to the Queensland Children's Hospital.

To donate please follow the link: https://fundraise.ccs.org.au/fundraisers/CharlevilleSHS2026/charleville-shs---community-fundraiser?

All the brave students committing to a cut, shave or colour are doing to as part of our Charleville SHS fundraiser. If you wish to donate on behalf of one or more of them, please follow the link above.

🌾 🌅 In rural and remote communities, the early morning often provides the clearest opportunity to pause before the day’s demands begin. Observing a sunrise can support nervous system regulation, strengthen gratitude practices, and offer a brief but meaningful reset.

Here is a short, steady morning pause you can use anywhere — especially in those quiet early hours.

Step outside or sit near a window. Let the morning light be your anchor.

1. Settle in ☕️

Hold a warm cup of tea or coffee. Feel the heat in your hands. Let your shoulders drop.

2. Breathe slowly 🧘

Inhale gently for a count of four.
Exhale for six.
Repeat three times.

3. Notice your senses 👀

• Name 3 things you can see — colours, shapes, the way the light moves.
• Name 2 things you can hear — birds, wind, other distant sounds.
• Name 1 thing you can feel — the cup in your hands, your feet on the ground.

4. Check in with gratitude 🙏🏿

Identify one small thing supporting you this morning — warmth, quiet, space, breath.

5. Return gently 🌅

Take one final slow breath. Notice how your body feels now compared to when you started.

👏 Bravo Charleville Performing Arts Association and the Charleville Lifeline Darling Downs & South West team - what a wonderful initiative to support our community over the coming days. See you at the Festival!! 🎶 🎤 🎹 🎻 👯‍♂️ 🎭 ✍️

Looking for a quiet space, a gentle conversation in the 'busy' that is Festival. There will be support available for all performers, patrons, guests, and members of the public at the Festival. Thankyou Lifeline.

❤️‍🩹 Our heartfelt thoughts are with everyone in our community who has been affected by the recent tragic events.

People may respond in many different ways. Some may feel shocked, deeply saddened, confused, angry or unsettled, while others may have difficulty sleeping or concentrating. There is no single “right” way to respond.

During this time, we encourage everyone to support one another with kindness, compassion and care. Please also be mindful about sharing unconfirmed information, images or identifying details. Rumours and repeated exposure to distressing content can increase distress for affected individuals, children, families and the wider community.

We have gathered some resources that may be useful in this difficult time:
👉Kids Health Info — Discussing distressing news events with children: https://www.rch.org.au/kidsinfo/fact_sheets/discussing_distressing_news_events_with_children/
👉Talking to children about natural disasters and traumatic events: https://emergingminds.com.au/resources/talking-to-children-about-natural-disasters-traumatic-events-or-worries-about-the-future/?audience=researchers
👉Supporting someone in distress | Queensland Mental Health Commission:https://www.qmhc.qld.gov.au/sites/default/files/2022_673_responder_tip_sheet_final_060422.pdf

In the days and weeks ahead, it may help to maintain familiar routines, stay connected with trusted people and allow others to choose whether and when they wish to talk. Sometimes practical support—such as checking in, preparing a meal, assisting with children or simply being present—can be particularly valuable.

If you or someone you know is struggling, please reach out to family, friends, a trusted health professional or one of the services below. No one should have to navigate difficult times alone.
