🚨🪑 Today we put safety into action with a Fire Evacuation Training exercise, including hands-on practice using our evacuation chair.

The evacuation chair is designed to safely assist anyone who may be unable to use the stairs during an emergency, ensuring they can be brought to a place of safety quickly and securely.

While there were plenty of laughs, smiles, and good-natured teamwork along the way, the exercise highlighted something very important—our commitment to inclusiveness and the safety of everyone who visits and works in our office.

It was great to see colleagues getting involved, learning new skills, and working together to make sure we're prepared should an emergency ever arise.
Safety is not just a procedure; it's a responsibility we all share.

Today was a great reminder that being prepared can be engaging, educational, and even a little fun! 👍

💙 Looking for NDIS Supports? We Have Capacity — and We’d Love to Meet You. 💙

☕ If you’re curious about what support might be available, come in for a coffee, say hello, and have a relaxed chat with our team.

There’s no pressure, no obligation, and no expectation to sign anything. Let’s simply sit down together, get to know you, understand your needs, your goals, your care, and what matters most to you. From there, we can talk through what support options may be available and how TassieCare may be able to help.

At TassieCare, we are passionate about doing support differently. We don’t just provide services — we take the time to listen, understand, plan, and deliver supports that are meaningful, practical, and focused on real outcomes.

We currently have capacity to support people who may be:
✅ In hospital and waiting to go home, with NDIS supports needing to be arranged
✅ Already on an NDIS plan and looking for the right provider
✅ Working with the NDIS or waiting for a plan to be approved
✅ Under 18 and needing caring, experienced support
✅ Requiring complex care or disability-related health supports
✅ Needing behaviour support
✅ Wanting to build independence, confidence, skills, and capacity
✅ Looking for specialised therapeutic supports and proven support models

We believe great support starts with a genuine conversation. We believe people deserve to feel heard, respected, and supported by a team that truly cares. And we believe the right support can create real, lasting change.

So come and meet us. Bring your questions, your goals, your family, your support coordinator, or just yourself.

Today is National Sorry Day, marking 29 years since the Bringing Them Home report was tabled in Federal Parliament. The report gave 54 recommendations grounded in healing, justice, and real systemic change for Stolen Generations survivors and their families. Almost three decades on, only 6% of those recommendations have been fully implemented.

While we recognise the strength, resilience, and leadership of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, there is still urgent work to do. Of recent concern is the proposed bill in the Northern Territory that risks weakening the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Child Placement Principle in a jurisdiction already facing the lowest rates of kinship care in the country — where just 16–18% of Aboriginal children in out-of-home care are placed with family or kin.

This highlights the need for further action. For all of the recommendations of the Bringing Them Home report to be implemented so we can walk together towards reconciliation with First Nations People.

National Sorry Day is not only a day of reflection — it’s a call to action. To listen, to honour, and to ensure that commitments made are commitments kept.

Tassiecare Services proudly participated in Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea Cancer Council Australia — an incredible community event raising vital funds for those impacted by cancer. 💛

We are so grateful for the overwhelming support from everyone in our community who attended, donated, and helped make the day such a huge success. A special thank you to Mission Australia Devonport , headspace Devonport and every single person who came together to support this important cause.

This event is especially close to our hearts because we know so many people in our community have been impacted by cancer. With almost 1 in 2 Australians diagnosed with cancer before the age of 85, every conversation, every donation, and every act of support truly makes a difference.

Together, we shared kindness, connection, and hope — and we are incredibly proud to stand alongside our community in helping create change. 💙

In a time of rapid reform, change, and uncertainty across the disability sector, strong leadership and collective action matter more than ever. Proud to be attending the National Disability Services Insights into Action Conference with the Tassiecare Services executive team — listening, learning, and turning insights into meaningful action for the future of our sector.

I’m also incredibly proud to serve as a member of the NDS Divisional Committee, contributing to conversations that help shape the future of disability services across our communities.

Looking forward to connecting with others who are committed to positive change and stronger outcomes for people living with disability.

“The perspectives of people with disability are going to be
so important in getting these settings right.”
