Supporting Our Community, Whatever the Weather 💚

Today was a very special milestone for Emerald Village Pharmacy as we officially launched our new Power Trailer.

Emerald Village Pharmacy is open 7 days a week, providing our local community with essential medicines, vaccinations, medication packs, consultations and ongoing health management. Living in the beautiful hills comes with unique challenges, particularly when severe weather events result in prolonged power outages.

Thanks to funding through AusNet’s Energy Resilience Grant program, we are incredibly fortunate to have secured a mobile generator created and produced by Buffalo Stand Alone Power Solutions. This will help keep the pharmacy operational during extended power outages and severe storms.

This is about more than keeping the lights on. It means we can continue providing access to essential medications, vaccinations, pharmaceutical services, health advice and care when our community needs us most.

The Power Trailer will support not only Emerald, but surrounding communities including Avonsleigh, Clematis, Cockatoo, Macclesfield, Gembrook, Menzies Creek and Selby.

We are incredibly grateful to AusNet for making this initiative possible and to all our local community members for supporting our grant application and recognising the importance of strengthening healthcare resilience across the Dandenong Ranges.

A wonderful example of local organisations working together to build a safer, stronger and more resilient community.

Thank you to everyone who has helped bring this project to life. We’re incredibly proud to be able to continue supporting our community, whatever the weather may bring.
