Positively Hypnobirthing Hypnobirthing Australia™ Course (Childbirth Education) taught by Kate Eakin on the Gold Coast

Hi, I’m Kate and I’m a certified Hypnobirthing Australia™ Practitioner and a Childbirth Educator (HPCE) on the Gold Coast. I’m passionate about teaching the Hypnobirthing Australia™ program because I truly believe that every woman, whether it be your first, third or fourth time giving birth, you have the right to have an amazing, positive birthing experience, which you feel empowered by and the Hy

pnobirthing Australia™ course offers just this. I can support you and your birth companion as a practitioner as well as being a two times hypnobirthing mum. I had two calm, positive births using hypnobirthing techniques - one of which was in hospital and the other was an amazing, vaginal breech birth delivered unintentionally at home. The ‘hypno’ refers to the use of hypnotherapy in the course and this is a great tool that helps you to release fear and tension and change preconceived, negative thoughts and encourages a positive mindset, self-confidence and awareness. Hypnosis is a process like meditation - you are conscious and awake, although show signs of being emotionally and physically relaxed. Hypnotherapy will create a more calm and relaxed birthing experience, because the tools will help you to focus internally on the task at hand and shut out unwanted disruptions. Join me in combining information, tools and techniques to ensure a physical and mental preparation that is so important for releasing fear and tension and as a result you can achieve your goal of having a calm, positive birthing experience.

She birthed her baby in the front seat of the car. On her own. And she calls it “a smooth, quick, exciting story” 🙌

Meet Jess and her gorgeous boy Onyx ❤️

And before you ask… I promise, almost all the mums I teach make it to their chosen place of birth…
But sometimes babies write their own plans.

And when special circumstances pop up, a mum who’s informed, has tools in her kit and has worked on her mindset can handle anything.

Jess is beautiful proof of that.

She’ll tell you herself she walked into my Hypnobirthing Australia™ class feeling SO anxious about birth. But what I saw? A mum who showed up, soaked up every tool and did the work ❤️

So when her first baby decided he wasn’t waiting for the hospital... she stayed SO calm.

She moved - cat cow, rocking over her exercise ball, meditation music playing while she waited for her mum to arrive.

And she breathed. In her words? Breathe, breathe, breathe! ✨ That Hypnobirthing Australia™ surge breathing really is the best tool in the kit 👌

One speedbump in the driveway later... baby Onyx arrived, straight into his mama’s own arms. He even shares a birthday with his grandma now 🥰

Seeing how far Jess has come - from super anxious in her early pregnancy to birthing her baby with such confidence and trust. Wow 🙌

Jess’s full story is on my blog now. Link in bio. Definitely have a read ❤️

“Ten centimetres. You’re going to have this baby here.” And by ‘here’... her midwife meant the walk-in wardrobe. “We missed the whole hospital bit” 😅
That’s how Brooke sums up her birth... and this is such a great birth story.

Brooke and Joe did my Hypnobirthing Australia™ group course here on the Gold Coast. And when Brooke’s surges started at 9pm, intense from the very first one, they dropped straight into the tools from our course, together. Brooke breathing through every surge. Joe right beside her through the night, reminding her... in through your nose, let it go and “it’s a stretch, just breathe.”

Then everything ramped up SO fast that when her midwife arrived to check her, she calmly announced: “You’re ten centimetres. You’re going to have this baby here.”
Here. As in... the walk-in wardrobe 😂

Their gorgeous girl (all 9.6 pounds of her 😍) arrived about 40 minutes later, at home, no pain relief, paramedics pulling up just 10 minutes before she did.

But my favourite part is what Brooke said afterwards:
“Nobody got the chance to take over my labour. I just took control and birthed my baby, surrounded by my family.”

THAT’S what preparation gives you. Not a promise that birth will follow the plan... but calm you can trust, tools that work, and a partner who knows how to support you when baby writes her own 🥰

Birth doesn’t have to look one particular way to be powerful, calm and beautiful ❤️

This gorgeous mum who I supported through the Hypnobirthing Australia™ course, so kindly gave permission for me to share her maternal assisted caesarean birth.

Just before she went in for her caesarean, her OB asked if she’d like to help lift her own baby out. And because of everything she’d learned in the course, that idea didn’t feel scary at all. She said yes straight away. She called it “one of the most incredible, emotional moments of my life” 🥰

A maternal assisted caesarean… baby born by caesarean, with mum’s hands right there to welcome them ❤️

👉 It’s not about HOW your baby arrives.
It’s about how you feel while it’s happening - informed, respected, and in the driver’s seat.

In mum’s own words:
“I had a wonderful birth experience, even though it ended differently to what I originally hoped for, and I truly believe this course played a huge role in that.” 🙌

Knowledge really is power… and it changes everything about how birth feels, no matter which path it takes ✨

I’d love to help you feel this informed and supported for your birth too - just send me a message ❤️

Thank you to this beautiful mum for sharing her birth with us. Watching her become a mother, exactly as it unfolded, is such a privilege 🥹

Normalising birth ❤️ 🎥 by authentically.julie

When our children grow up seeing birth as something safe, familiar, and natural it changes everything.

This beautiful reel from authentically.julie shows going full circle… witnessing her own mother’s births, carrying that calm belief into her own pregnancies, and now giving her children that same gift ❤️

Because mindset starts early.

When birth is framed as scary or dangerous, our bodies hold that story.

And just like an athlete wouldn’t train believing they’re destined to fail, we can’t expect ourselves to step into labour confidently if fear is the foundation we were given.

Thank you to this beautiful mum for showing what’s possible… for reminding us what birth can be, and for helping normalise what our bodies are designed to do.

I grew up attending my mom’s homebirths in 1991, 1995, and 2003. Birth was never something to fear, it was just a normal part of life. So when I got pregnant in 2016, I already knew I wanted to have my babies at home too. She normalized birth for me, and now I get to do the same for my children 🥹
