Positively Hypnobirthing Hypnobirthing Australia™ Course (Childbirth Education) taught by Kate Eakin on the Gold Coast

Hi, I’m Kate and I’m a certified Hypnobirthing Australia™ Practitioner and a Childbirth Educator (HPCE) on the Gold Coast. I’m passionate about teaching the Hypnobirthing Australia™ program because I truly believe that every woman, whether it be your first, third or fourth time giving birth, you have the right to have an amazing, positive birthing experience, which you feel empowered by and the Hy

pnobirthing Australia™ course offers just this. I can support you and your birth companion as a practitioner as well as being a two times hypnobirthing mum. I had two calm, positive births using hypnobirthing techniques - one of which was in hospital and the other was an amazing, vaginal breech birth delivered unintentionally at home. The ‘hypno’ refers to the use of hypnotherapy in the course and this is a great tool that helps you to release fear and tension and change preconceived, negative thoughts and encourages a positive mindset, self-confidence and awareness. Hypnosis is a process like meditation - you are conscious and awake, although show signs of being emotionally and physically relaxed. Hypnotherapy will create a more calm and relaxed birthing experience, because the tools will help you to focus internally on the task at hand and shut out unwanted disruptions. Join me in combining information, tools and techniques to ensure a physical and mental preparation that is so important for releasing fear and tension and as a result you can achieve your goal of having a calm, positive birthing experience.

Normalising birth ❤️ 🎥 by authentically.julie

When our children grow up seeing birth as something safe, familiar, and natural it changes everything.

This beautiful reel from authentically.julie shows going full circle… witnessing her own mother’s births, carrying that calm belief into her own pregnancies, and now giving her children that same gift ❤️

Because mindset starts early.

When birth is framed as scary or dangerous, our bodies hold that story.

And just like an athlete wouldn’t train believing they’re destined to fail, we can’t expect ourselves to step into labour confidently if fear is the foundation we were given.

Thank you to this beautiful mum for showing what’s possible… for reminding us what birth can be, and for helping normalise what our bodies are designed to do.

I grew up attending my mom’s homebirths in 1991, 1995, and 2003. Birth was never something to fear, it was just a normal part of life. So when I got pregnant in 2016, I already knew I wanted to have my babies at home too. She normalized birth for me, and now I get to do the same for my children 🥹

Such a great example of how simple movement can make labour easier and more effective.
🎥 by the lovely a fellow Body Ready Method® pro I’ve worked with 🤩

She’s using two powerful tools here: staying upright and adding asymmetry with her foot up on the step.

✅ Upright positions help baby move down with gravity.

✅ And asymmetrical positions create extra space in the mid‑pelvis - the area where babies often need just a little more room to rotate past those bony points in the pelvis.

It’s such a clear reminder that when you understand how the pelvis works, the movements you choose can truly support your body and your baby 🤗

If there’s one thing that was a game changer for me & I encourage in labour… it’s this:

Stay upright and keep moving in labour.

Research shows that upright and mobile positions during labour can:
• Help labour progress more efficiently
• Support baby moving down
• Improve positioning
• Reduce the likelihood of interventions
• Even shorten labour time

Why?

Because when you’re upright:
✨ Gravity is working with you
✨ The pelvis can open more fully
✨ Contractions can be more effective

My advice ?
Practice movements you want to use in labor DURING your pregnancy so it becomes more intuitive when IN labor.

Think swaying, leaning, kneeling, walking, using your birth ball or birth.

Ever pictured birth like a baby just dropping down… just like a basketball through a hoop? 🏀 It’s actually nothing like that.
Baby doesn’t descend in a straight line - they follow a curve, spiralling and rotating through the pelvis as they make their way earthside.

And the important part ⬇️
Your baby’s ability to navigate that curve depends on the:
- Space
- Balance
- Suppleness of soft tissues around your pelvis

When we spend lots of time sitting, crossing our legs, or holding tension (hello modern life 😅), those tissues can get tight or imbalanced - which can make baby’s journey a little less smooth.

The good news?
You can absolutely support your body to create more space and ease:
✨ Keep your body moving
✨ Release tension where it tends to build
✨ Work on balance so baby has room to rotate
✨ Learn positions that open the pelvis at each level

This is exactly what I teach in my Hypnobirthing Australia™ course, and Body Ready Birth workshop, and private sessions.

If you’d like support to help your baby navigate that curve with more ease, send me a DM and let’s chat or click in my bio 💕

Awesome 🎥 by - so powerful to watch ❤️
She’s so beautifully tuned in to her instincts, surrounded by great support, and those low, instinctual, grunty sounds 👌 vocalising to help the pelvic floor soften and lengthen - she’s literally using her voice to bring her baby down 🙌

Such an incredible example of what unfolds in birth when a woman feels safe, supported, and free to follow her body’s cues ✨

What the movies show isn’t what birth always looks like 🥲

I absolutely love re-living all 3 of my babies births. All three looked very similar to this.

At home. Peaceful. I thoroughly enjoyed them. 🥰

I remember seeing videos like this when I was pregnant with my first baby and it gave me so much hope.

It honestly made me SO excited.

Without ever experiencing birth the first time I just KNEW it could be enjoyable. I knew it could be peaceful.
And I was right.

No, not every birth looks like this. But this has been my experience three times and I want women to know that if they are desiring a peaceful, calm, enjoyable birth it’s totally possible.

I pray this encourages you and gives you hope like it did for me.

If you want to learn more about how to flow with God’s natural design for your body in labor, I have a free birth prep video playlist called Birth Without Burden.
