A friendly reminder about the upcoming Australia-wide test of the new AusAlert emergency warning system.

On Monday, 27 July, compatible mobile devices across Australia will receive a test emergency alert. This is a planned national test designed to help ensure the system works effectively when it is needed in a real emergency.

When the test alert is received, your mobile device may vibrate, play a loud siren-like tone and display a message clearly identifying the alert as a test. While the sound may be unexpected, there is no cause for concern.

The test alert is scheduled for:
2.00 pm (AEST) in Queensland and New South Wales
1.30 pm (ACST) in South Australia

You do not need to do anything when you receive this test alert.

AusAlert will become Australia's new emergency warning system and, in a real emergency, will be used to share important information about events such as bushfires, floods and other significant incidents.

🎄🎅 Christmas in July Celebration! 🎅🎄

Our residents enjoyed a wonderful day out celebrating Christmas in July with a festive bus trip on Wednesday.

The day began with a delicious morning tea at the beautiful Stamford Grand Hotel in Glenelg, where everyone indulged in jumbo spring rolls, freshly baked scones with jam and cream, and a selection of coffee and specialty teas. From there, the group travelled to the Sailmaster Tavern at North Haven to enjoy a delightful Christmas lunch in their own private dining room. Residents chose between traditional roast turkey with all the trimmings or Trans-Atlantic salmon, followed by Christmas pudding or meringue for dessert.

The room was filled with laughter, great conversation, and plenty of Christmas cheer, making it a truly memorable day for everyone.

A wonderful time was had by all, creating special memories and celebrating the friendships that make our village community so special ❤️🎄🚌

Annie, Michael, Steve and Sheila recently visited Cancer Council SA on Greenhill Road, where they were given a tour of the facilities and gained a firsthand look at how the funds raised through our Biggest Morning Tea will make a meaningful difference.

The incredible $8,000 raised by our village community will help fund groundbreaking research into cancer prevention, treatments and cures. It will also support the many vital services provided by Cancer Council SA, including counselling, financial assistance, accommodation and support programs for people undergoing treatment and their families.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to this amazing result. Your generosity will have a lasting impact on the lives of those affected by cancer. 💛

This week, our wonderful Tea Team volunteers came together at Kwik Stix to celebrate the success of our Biggest Morning Tea. It was a lovely opportunity to enjoy a delicious meal, reflect on all that was achieved, and take pride in the incredible contribution made to support Cancer Council SA.

We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Kwik Stix for their incredible generosity in donating restaurant vouchers for our Biggest Morning Tea raffle. Their support played an important part in the success of the event, and we are truly grateful for their kindness and community spirit.

Thank you once again to everyone who volunteered their time, energy and enthusiasm. Your hard work helped make the event such a wonderful success, and your generosity has made a real difference. Well done, Tea Team! ☕💛

It was delightful to have such a wonderful turnout at our Music Concert last Sunday, with residents, friends and family coming together to enjoy a fantastic afternoon of entertainment.

A heartfelt thank you to all of our talented musicians and singers for generously sharing your time and talents. Your performances were thoroughly enjoyed and helped create a memorable afternoon for everyone who attended. ☕💛 What a wonderful morning we had at our Biggest Morning Tea today!

A huge thank you to all of our residents, family members, volunteers, and staff who joined us for a cuppa, delicious treats, and great company while supporting an important cause.

The room was filled with laughter, conversation, and community spirit as we came together to raise awareness and funds for those affected by cancer. It was heartwarming to see so many familiar faces enjoying the morning and contributing so generously.

A special thank you to everyone who donated, baked, helped set up, and assisted throughout the event. Your kindness and support helped make the morning such a success.

🦘 Have you met our newest neighbours? 🦘

If you've taken a stroll near the reservoir across the road lately, you may have spotted some special visitors hopping about! Our local kangaroos have been making themselves right at home, providing plenty of entertainment and a wonderful reminder of the beautiful Australian wildlife we have on our doorstep.

Pizza night was a huge success on Friday night. There was a fantastic crowd to enjoy some wine, beer, pizza and ice cream along with another birthday cake for our birthday girl Yvonne!
The next pizza night will be held in the hall on Friday 31st July.
