At Oodles we are celebrating Indigenous Literacy Day 💛📚

Literacy is about so much more than learning to read and write. It’s about belonging, identity, connection and having your stories valued and heard.

For our clients, celebrating Indigenous Literacy Day is an opportunity to explore First Nations stories, learn about Country, discover language and culture, and build understanding in ways that are meaningful, respectful and age-appropriate.

Through books, storytelling and shared experiences, we can help create spaces where children feel connected to the world around them and develop a deeper appreciation for the oldest continuing cultures in the world.

Happy Speech Pathology Week 🗣️🗣️

This Speech Pathology Week, our team at Oodles is celebrating the incredible profession we’re so grateful to be a part of. 💛

Speech pathology is about so much more than speech. From communication, language and literacy to supporting people with eating, drinking and swallowing, speech pathologists play an important role in so many aspects of people’s lives. 🗣️📚🍎🥤
Communication creates possibility, the possibility to connect with others, express our needs and ideas, build relationships, participate in our communities, learn, advocate for ourselves and feel heard and understood.

We’re so grateful to work alongside children, adults, families, schools and our wider Katherine community, supporting people to communicate, connect, participate and thrive.

Ever wondered where the Oodles team used to call home? 🗺️

Our team has made their way to the NT from all across Australia, and we each bring a little piece of where we’re from with us, different experiences, backgrounds and perspectives that all add something to the Oodles team!

We think we’ve landed in a pretty special part of the country too. From camping, fishing and weekends exploring, to the laid-back lifestyle and incredible places on our doorstep, there’s plenty to love about calling the NT home. 🏕️🎣

Working here keeps things interesting too, no two days look the same! The variety of people, communities and settings we work across gives us the opportunity to do and experience so much.

After spending time in Katherine on placement back in 2024, Emily has made her way back up from chilly Melbourne to defrost in the Top End sunshine (and we don’t blame her)! Emily has recently moved up from Melbourne and is already loving the sunshine and lifestyle Katherine has to offer. Emily has a background as a speech pathologist in community rehabilitation and is very much looking forward to working with clients in and around Katherine with their speech and swallowing goals.

25.07.26 Katherine Camels 🐫v Katherine South Crocs 🐊

Can you spot your clinicians out at Kalano this morning? Our team was faced head to head with ultimate Oodles office bragging rights on the line! The Katherine Camels well and truly jumped on the hump at Kalano Sports Field against the Katherine South Crocs.

While the Crocs gave it their all on the field, Camels put took home the game today! Game 3 of Oodles Origin in two weeks! stay tuned to see if the Camels remain victorious, or if the Crocs can get it done!

Another very exciting welcome to our Clinical Lead Kaitlyn! ⭐️

Making the move up north from Adelaide, Kaitlyn brings a wealth of knowledge to our Oodles team. As an experienced Occupational Therapist with a Masters in Child and Adolescent Mental Health, Kaitlyn has worked in a range of roles and has developed a strong passion for regional practice and working with children and families with complex support needs. Our existing OT’s & SP’s at Oodles are so excited to have Kaitlyn on board to help us all grow as clinicians and support us in our day to day operations.

Kaitlyn is a lover of sport and a proud mum of her golden doggy Lucy! Welcome to Katherine Kaitlyn, we hope you love it as much as we do! 🧡

Meet Lucy, our newest Speech Pathologist 💛🗣️

Originally from Adelaide, South Australia - Lucy has a passion for supporting children with speech sounds, language development, and neuro-affirming practice. After falling in love with the NT during a placement on Groote Eylandt, she’s excited to now call Katherine home! 🌿✨

She’s already loving the warm weather (who can blame her? ☀️) and is missing her two gorgeous whippets, Mindy & Mike, back home. 🐾

A very hard farewell to our lovely Speech Pathologist Taylah ❤️

Taylah joined us for a short but sweet time at Oodles, but left an everlasting impact on us all 🥹

Whether or not you were lucky enough to have Taylah as your clinician, you may have seen her with her sidekick camera snapping photos of our clinicians doing what they love most! Taylah was monumental in supporting the Oodles website and social media this year!

Taylah you are an incredible clinician and an even more incredible person, you are so knowledgeable and make meaningful connections with your clients and their families! best of luck ongoing for whatever you may choose to in your upcoming career, there will be a little piece of the Territory in your heart forever!

A very special farewell to our incredible Operations Manager, Maddie. 🩷

It’s hard to put into words just how much Maddie has meant to our team. She has been the person everyone could turn to, for support, advice, guidance, or simply a listening ear. Whether it was something clinical, operational, or just one of those tough days, Maddie was always there.

Her calm nature, genuine care, and endless willingness to help have made a lasting impact on every one of us. She has played such an important role in shaping our team and supporting us to provide the best care we can for our families.

While we’re incredibly sad to see her leave, we’re so excited for her as she returns to teaching. We know she’ll make the same positive impact in the classroom as she has with us.

Thank you for everything, Maddie. We’ll miss you more than you know, and we’re so grateful for everything you’ve brought to Oodles. Wishing you all the best for this next adventure. 🐛🦋
