๐Ÿ’› R U OK? World Su***de Prevention Day Community Gathering tomorrow๐Ÿ’›

A simple conversation can change a life.
This World Su***de Prevention Day, we invite everyone in our community to come together, connect, and ask one important question:

๐Ÿ’› R U OK?

Taking the time to check in with family, friends, neighbours, and community members can make a real difference. No one should have to face life's challenges alone, and together we can create a stronger, more connected community where everyone feels supported.
Join Durri ACMS for a day of connection, wellbeing, support, and community spirit.

๐Ÿ“… Wednesday, 9 September 2026
โฐ 10:00am - 2:00pm
๐Ÿ“ Kempsey Riverside Park
๐ŸŒญ FREE BBQ
โœ… No registration required

Bring your family, friends, and colleagues along to enjoy a yarn, connect with services, learn about available supports, and help raise awareness about mental health and wellbeing.

Let's stand together, support one another, and remind those around us that it's okay to ask for help and it's okay to ask:
๐Ÿ’› "R U OK?"

Everyone is welcome. We look forward to seeing you there.

๐ŸŒฟ Durri Blue Zone Project: A Vision for the Next 20 Years ๐ŸŒฟ

At Durri ACMS, we believe the future of our communities will be built through long-term, community-led investment in health, wellbeing, culture and opportunity.

The Durri Blue Zone Project is our bold vision to create Australia's first First Nations Blue Zone, building on the principles of the Closing the Gap framework while taking a holistic approach to the social determinants of health. It brings together health, food security, clean water, housing, education, employment, technology, culture and connection to Country in one integrated model designed by and for our communities.

Over the next 20 years, we want to see healthier people, stronger families, thriving Aboriginal businesses, empowered young people, respected Elders and communities that are connected, resilient and self-determining. By investing upstream in prevention, education, culture and opportunity, we can create lasting change and build a better future for generations to come.

This is more than a project. It is a commitment to transforming outcomes, advancing Closing the Gap, and creating a legacy of health, hope and prosperity for our communities.
The future starts now.

27/08/2026

Durri Aboriginal Corporation Medical Service (Durri ACMS) is proud to announce it has been named the 2026 ACCO of the Year at the AbSec Gala Dinner and Awards Night held in Port Macquarie.

Presented by AbSec - NSW Child, Family and Community Peak Aboriginal Corporation, this prestigious statewide award recognises excellence in supporting Aboriginal children, young people and families, and celebrates organisations creating positive outcomes in their communities.

The award acknowledges Durri's leadership, innovation and commitment to delivering culturally safe, community-led services. Central to this recognition is Durri's First Steps Together Integrated Model of Care, a locally designed approach that brings maternal, child and family health services together into a coordinated, wraparound model of support.

Developed in response to community feedback, First Steps Together places Aboriginal families at the centre of care and is led by Aboriginal Health Workers and Aboriginal Health Practitioners. The model has been recognised as an example of best practice, demonstrating how culturally grounded, community-designed services can strengthen outcomes for children and families.

Receiving this award is a significant achievement for Durri ACMS and reinforces the importance of Aboriginal community-controlled approaches to health and wellbeing. It also recognises the strong leadership shown by the Board and management team, whose direction and commitment have helped unlock our potenital.

While the award is presented to the organisation, it reflects the collective efforts of our Board of Directors, leadership team, team leaders, clinicians, Aboriginal Health Workers and Practitioners, administration staff, program teams, support staff and community partners. Their commitment to high-quality, culturally safe services continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of Aboriginal people and families.

Through initiatives such as First Steps Together, Durri continues to create stronger pathways to care and healthier futures for Aboriginal children and families. On behalf of Durri ACMS, we extend our sincere thanks to our staff, Board, partners and community members for their ongoing support and trust.

Congratulations Team Durri on being named the 2026 ACCO of the Year. This achievement belongs to every member of the Durri family, and together we will continue working towards a future where our children, families and communities are Strong, Empowered and Healthy.
