Today is Elder Abuse Awareness Day. 🖤💛❤️

For our Elders, Survivors and mob, this day carries extra weight. Navigating aged care is hard enough. Navigating it when the system has never felt safe for our people? That takes a different kind of strength.

Durri’s Elder Care team stands with you today and every day. We're here to make sure our Elders are safe, supported and never have to fight this system alone.

💙 Men’s Health Pit Stop – Thank You Community!

Despite the wet weather today, we had an incredible turnout of approximately 60–70 men who attended our Men’s Health Pit Stop and took the time to engage in services important to their health and wellbeing.

A massive thank you to all the services who partnered with us to make the day such a success—we couldn’t do this without your support and dedication to keeping our community strong and healthy.

👏 Congratulations to all of today’s winners who took home meat trays and gift cards!

📢 Reminder: When you complete your 715 Health Check next week, you will receive a $30 gift voucher and a vaccination hoodie.

Expression of Interest (EOI) – Aboriginal Artwork Submission

Aboriginal Social & Emotional Wellbeing Conference 2026

Conference Dates: 17–18 November 2026
Theme: “Walking Together in Wellbeing, Connecting through our Culture”

Invitation
We invite local Dunghutti Aboriginal artists to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to create an original artwork for the upcoming Aboriginal Social and Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) Conference 2026.

The selected artwork will represent and reflect the conference theme, celebrating culture, connection, community, and wellbeing.

Purpose of the Artwork
The commissioned artwork will be used across conference materials, including (but not limited to):
Conference program and promotional materials
Digital platforms and social media
Event signage and displays
The artwork should reflect cultural integrity, storytelling, and community connection aligned with the theme.

Theme Interpretation
Artists are encouraged to creatively interpret:
“Walking Together in Wellbeing, Connecting through our Culture”

This may include (but is not limited to):
Connection to Country
Cultural strength and identity
Community and kinship
Healing, wellbeing, and shared journeys
Unity and collaboration

Eligibility
Must identify as an Aboriginal artist of Dunghutti descent or connection to the Dunghutti community
Must be aged 18 years or older
Demonstrated experience in visual arts (emerging and established artists welcome)

💛 Belonging From the Beginning – Supporting Our Dalai’s Healthy Growth 💛

Today, our MCFHT team proudly delivered Belonging From the Beginning (Infant Mental Health) education at our supported playgroup held at Kempsey PCYC.

This important session focused on strengthening understanding of infant mental health and the vital role that connection, nurturing relationships, and a strong sense of belonging play in the healthy growth and development of our Dalai’s from the very beginning of life.

A huge thank you to Kempsey Macleay HomeStart, Kempsey Families, and Nurturing Connections for their ongoing support and partnership in delivering this important initiative. By working together, we can continue to support families, strengthen our community, and give our young ones the best possible start in life.

Together, we are creating safe, supportive, and connected environments where our Dalai’s can thrive. 🖤❤️💛
