A huge THANK YOU to everyone who popped down to see us at the Kersbrook Hall Market today!

We had an absolute cracker of a day, selling out of all our BBQ food and putting our new BBQ trailer through its paces for the first time! ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”

Weโ€™d like to give a special thanks to:

๐Ÿฅฉ Meat You Want โ€” for generously donating some of their fantastic meat for us to cook up and serve.

๐Ÿท๏ธ SOS Safety Signs โ€” for donating the stickers to help finish off our BBQ trailer.

โค๏ธ Our community โ€” your support was incredible. Every purchase helped put funds directly back into your local brigade. On top of that, the generosity of those who chose to throw a little extra into the donation tin was genuinely appreciated. Every dollar donated helps us keep our volunteers trained, our equipment maintained and our brigade ready to respond when our community needs us.

Thanks to everyone who supported us, we were able to raise a significant amount of money from the BBQ, which will go straight back into supporting Kersbrook CFS.

And finally, a massive shout-out to our brigade members who gave up a good chunk of their Saturday to cook, serve, set up, pack down and make the day such a huge success. We couldn't do it without you! ๐Ÿ‘

From all of us at Kersbrook CFS thank you for supporting your local volunteers. ๐Ÿš’

WEโ€™VE GOT LUNCH COVERED! ๐Ÿš’

Come down, let us take care of lunch!

Our Kersbrook CFS volunteers will be firing up the BBQ, serving up a feed while you enjoy the market. ๐ŸŒญ๐Ÿฅค

Weโ€™ll also have one of our fire trucks and a couple of Farm Fire units on display ! ๐Ÿš’

Bring the kids along to check out the appliance, and have a chat with our friendly crew about what we do and whatโ€™s involved in joining Kersbrook CFS.

Weโ€™d like to give a huge shout-out and thank you to Meat You Want for having one of our Kersbrook CFS donation tins in the shop!

Thanks to the incredible generosity of their customers, the tin raised a whopping $515! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ”ฅ

Weโ€™ve now dropped a fresh donation tin back into the shop, so next time you're in grabbing your favourite cut, why not throw a few dollars in and support your local CFS volunteers while you're there?

๐Ÿฅฉ Support the local butchers.
๐Ÿš’ Support your local CFS.

A massive thank you to the team at Meat You Want and everyone who dropped a donation into the tin, your support genuinely makes a difference to our brigade!

On Wednesday night, members of Kersbrook CFS joined Williamstown CFS at the CFS State Training Centre for a complex simulated road crash rescue exercise. ๐Ÿš’

Designed to replicate the challenges of a real-life incident, the scenario allowed our crews to refine our casualty management, vehicle stabilisation, extrication techniques, scene management and teamwork. These realistic training exercises help build the skills, confidence and decision-making needed when it really matters.

While we hope our community never needs us at an incident like this, ongoing training ensures we're prepared if that day comes. It also gives us the opportunity to strengthen the relationships we have with neighbouring brigades.

A big thank you to Williamstown Country Fire Service for a fantastic night of training. Every exercise strengthens the bond between our brigades, ensuring that when the pager goes off, we're not just responding as neighbouring crews, but as a team. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ

As we rely more on heaters, fireplaces and generators over the colder months, it's important to remember the dangers of carbon monoxide (CO).

Carbon monoxide is a poisonous gas that you can't see, smell or taste, and can often be inhaled without realising it. It can be produced by faulty or incorrectly used fuel-burning appliances and can quickly become deadly.

The use of unflued gas heaters, wood/kerosene heaters, outdoor heaters, BBQ's, Charcoal & heating beads, even generators in enclosed spaces, can be the causes of carbon monoxide poisoning.

Protect yourself and your family:
โ€ข Have heaters and fireplaces serviced regularly.
โ€ข Consider installing a carbon monoxide alarm.

Symptoms can include:
-Headaches
-Nausea
-Vomiting
-Loss of consciousness
-Shortness of breath

If you suspect carbon monoxide poisoning, move to fresh air immediately, call 000, and seek medical attention.

A few simple precautions can save lives

The Australian Government will be conducting a national test of the new AusAlert emergency warning system on Monday 27 July 2026 at 1:30pm (ACST).

During the test, a Critical AusAlert will be sent to compatible mobile phones, tablets and smart watches across Australia. Devices will vibrate, emit a loud siren-like sound for approximately 10 seconds, and display a test message. This alert will sound even if your device is set to silent or Do Not Disturb. No action is required.

AusAlert is Australia's new national emergency warning system and will be used to deliver fast, targeted warnings during emergencies such as bushfires, floods, severe storms and other significant incidents. The national test is being undertaken to ensure the system is ready before it becomes operational later this year.

We encourage everyone to be aware of the test to avoid unnecessary concern and to share this information with family, friends and neighbours

Just after 4:00pm today, Kersbrook CFS was responded to a large tree down near the intersection of South Para & Maidstone Roads.

Working with Tea Tree Gully SES, crews spent several hours cutting up and removing the tree before the road was reopened later in the evening.

We understand road closures can be frustrating, but they're never implemented lightly. Closing the road allowed emergency service crews to work safely while protecting motorists from the hazards associated with tree removal.

A big thank you to everyone for your patience and understanding while crews worked to clear the road.

Sean from the Shaka Project gave an informative presentation at the Kersbrook club rooms to the Gumeracha Group CFS Brigades last night.

It was a very informative night, with helpful information regarding mental health and su***de prevention.

Kersbrook CFS was honoured to host for our fellow group brigades Gumeracha, Operations Brigade, Birdwood, Cudlee Creek, Forreston, Gumeracha, Hermitage, Mt Torrens and Paracombe.

This was an exceฤบlent presentation and a good reminder to check in with loved ones, friends and family.
And another great opportunity to interact with our fellow buddy brigade members.

๐Ÿš’ New Volunteers Wanted ๐Ÿš’

Kersbrook CFS is looking for new volunteers, particularly those available to respond during the daytime.

No experience is needed, you will be provided all the training and equipment. It's a great opportunity to learn new skills, make lifelong friendships, and give back to your community.

Over the last few months, our members have undertaken:
๐Ÿ”ฅ Vehicle accident scenarios
๐Ÿ”ฅ Grass fire fighting
๐Ÿ”ฅ Team challenges
๐Ÿ”ฅ Relay Pumping (Fire truck to Fire truck)

If you've ever thought about joining the CFS, now is the perfect time.

Send us a message to find out more about becoming part of the team. ๐Ÿš’

A small group of our volunteers tackled True Grit Barossa, taking on 10km and 32 tough obstacles, all in support of the Black Dog Institute and the incredible work they do for mental health awareness and su***de prevention.

Thanks to the amazing support from our community, weโ€™ve now raised an incredible $1,798! ๐Ÿ’›

We really want to hit the $2,000 mark, and donations are still open if anyone would like to support the cause ๐Ÿ‘‡
https://truegritbarossa26.grassrootz.com/blackdoginstitute/kersbrook-cfs

Mental health affects so many people in our community, and this is a cause that means a great deal to us as a brigade.

To everyone who donated, shared our posts, or got behind the team, thank you. Your support genuinely means a lot. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

And to our volunteers who took on the challenge, as a brigade we couldnโ€™t be prouder. An outstanding effort for an important cause. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿš’
