For this week's blog, I thought I'd do something a little different.

Over the last few weeks I've been writing about stress, injuries, pregnancy and babies, but this week I decided to answer one of the most common questions I get asked all the time...

"What's the wildest thing a patient has ever told you?"

It turns out the answer isn't just a funny story. It made me reflect on why people often share some of the most personal parts of their lives with their physio and why genuine human connection is becoming more valuable than ever in a world that's increasingly digital.

If you want to know what the answer is, click the link below and have a read. I think it's pretty wild so let me know what you think.

Thanks again for all your support. It honestly means the world to me and the team. Have a great week guys.

What's the wildest thing a patient has ever told me? A funny but thought provoking story about trust, human connection and small businesses.

Tom is BACK with more unhinged questions... this time putting Allana Ford | The Business Alchemist ✨ from Muse Pilates Studios® in the hot seat 🙌

It was so good having Allana in the clinic! She originally came in for a bit of treatment for her lower back (we’ll show you that another time 👀) but you know Tom... he couldn’t resist firing off some of his favourite questions.

Safe to say she handled them like an absolute weapon 😂 What’s your most unhinged health habit?? Allana’s is up there with our fav so far! ☕️

Perks of working at Next Gen Physio... physios on demand when you need them. 😅

Earlier this year, our Practice Manager, Kim, herniated a disc in her neck (ouch) and while she’s been steadily improving, she’s still putting in the work behind the scenes.

In this video, we share a quick update on Kim’s recovery and give you a look at what a physio session at Next Gen Physio actually involves. Recovery isn’t just about getting treatment - it’s about understanding the problem, building confidence and following the right plan to get you back to doing what you love.

Happy Birthday Tom!! 🥳

What can’t this guy do.. Owner of Next Gen Physio, GASSING bossman, incredible dad, husband and friend AND apparently the back up speaker when the clinic music randomly stops working 🎶

Never change Tom, we love ya 🤣💙

❌ Stop blaming your sore neck on tight traps ❌

Stretching might feel good, but it isn’t always the solution.

We often see in the clinic that a key issue is a lack of strength in the traps, rather than poor flexibility/tightness. There are so many great exercises you can add into your training routine to work on this, and here is one of our go-to trap exercises that can be made easier or harder depending on your level.

Give it a go, and if you’ve got any questions, drop them in the comments! 👇

Does stress increase injury risk?? 🤔

The evidence suggests… yes.

It’s something we don’t talk an out enough in physio, despite it being a modifiable risk factor in a lot of cases. Looking after your body isn’t just about strength and mobility… your mental health and stress levels matter too!

Hey everyone, Tom here. Hope you are all having a great week!

So this week's blog is a little different. If you've seen me in the clinic recently, you'll know I've somehow ended up talking about babies and pregnancy a lot... and there's a pretty good reason for it.

Between my sister having her first baby over in the UK, our receptionist, Caitlin, starting maternity leave, my wife being 25 weeks pregnant AND seeing so many pregnant and post-partum mums in the clinic... it's seriously been on my mind more than ever.

I also share a little about our own journey to this pregnancy after years of IVF, a chat I had with my 94 year old Granny about what pregnancy was like "back in the day" and why I think every woman should know that they don't have to just put up with pain during pregnancy.

It's a bit more personal than my usual blogs, but I really enjoyed writing this one. If you've got a few minutes spare, I'd love for you to have a read.

As always, would love any feedback you guys have to give. I've really enjoyed getting back into writing.. so much so that this has become one of my favourite parts of the week.

Until next week :)

From IVF to an unexpected pregnancy, Tom reflects on babies, family and why pregnancy has been on his mind lately. Plus, why women's health physiotherapy can be one of the most empowering parts of the journey.

✨ Come along with Tom to get some dry needling from Zac ✨

Remember guys, dry needling alone isn’t enough to fix the issue.. but today Tom was feeling lazy, he was working like a prawn and needed some quick relief. Don’t worry though - we will make sure he does his exercises later too!! 🤣🦐
