๐Ÿš‚ ALL ABOARD FOR A TRIP DOWN MEMORY LANE!

There was something very special about the sound of a steam engine bringing back memories for some of our Warramunda Village residents last week.

Our residents headed along to enjoy the wonderful Steam Rally outside Sheridan Aged Care, where the magnificent machines provided much more than a great spectacle.

For many, they were a reminder of another time, sparking stories and plenty of fond memories of years gone by. ๐Ÿ’œ

A huge thank you to Sheridan Aged Care for organising the opportunity and to Rod Bain and crew, who were absolutely wonderful and helped make the experience so enjoyable for everyone.

After taking in the sights and sounds of the rally, our residents returned to enjoy a cuppa and Happy Hour together, with plenty to talk about after their afternoon out. โ˜•๐Ÿฅ‚

Sometimes the best outings aren't just about where you go, but the memories they bring home with you.

Thank you for a wonderful afternoon! ๐Ÿš‚๐Ÿ’œ

๐ŸŒผ A LITTLE YELLOW BRIGHTNESS AT WARRAMUNDA! ๐ŸŒผ

Our residents have been getting creative in preparation for Daffodil Day, with plenty of cutting, colouring, crafting and conversation along the way.

The daffodil is a beautiful symbol of hope, and our latest craft sessions have certainly brought a splash of sunshine to Warramunda Village. ๐Ÿ’›

As well as producing some wonderful creations, activities like these are about so much more than the finished product. They're an opportunity to come together, have a chat, share a laugh and enjoy doing something creative with friends.๐ŸŒผ๐Ÿ’›

๐Ÿ’œ โ€œCAN WE SEE?โ€

There were plenty of questions when the Kyabram P-12 College Prep students visited Warramunda Village last week, and we absolutely loved their curiosity!

The children wanted to know all about what life at Warramunda is really like.

Where do the residents eat? What do they do here?

We explained that there's always plenty happening, from ten pin bowling and golf to music, activities and bus outings.

Then came the next big question...

โ€œWhere do they sleep?โ€ ๐Ÿ›๏ธ

We explained that our residents have their own bedrooms and bathrooms.

And, naturally, that prompted an immediate follow-up:

โ€œCan we see?โ€ ๐Ÿ˜„

After getting permission from Warramunda couple Thelma and Kevin Chandler, we took our curious little visitors along to see their bedroom.

And apparently simply looking at the bed wasn't quite enough!

Before long, the children had happily piled onto Thelma and Kevin's bed for this gorgeous photo. ๐Ÿ’œ

It was such a simple, spontaneous moment, but one that captured everything we loved about the Prep visit: curiosity, laughter, generosity and two generations completely at ease in each other's company.

A very special thank you to Thelma and Kevin for opening not only their door, but their room to our inquisitive young visitors.

We think the smiles say the rest. ๐Ÿ’œ

๐Ÿ’œ 100 days. 100 years. Countless smiles.

There was something truly special about welcoming the Prep students from Kyabram P-12 College to Warramunda Village as they celebrated their first 100 days of school.

For our residents, many of whom have lived through almost a century of Australian history, it was a wonderful opportunity to share stories, laughter and plenty of smiles with children just beginning their own journeys.

The room was filled with conversations, cupcakes and genuine connections that reminded us how much different generations have to offer one another.

These moments aren't just enjoyable. They help build understanding, create lasting memories and strengthen the sense of community that makes Kyabram such a special place to call home.

A heartfelt thank you to Kyabram P-12 College, the Kyabram Club Club and Ben for helping make this memorable visit possible.

๐Ÿ’œ We hope you enjoy some of our favourite moments from a day that brought together 100 days of learning and almost 100 years of living.

๐Ÿ’œ WHAT ARE THE CHANCES?

When Kyabram P-12 College Prep students visited Warramunda to celebrate their 100th Day of School, one very special guest quickly became the centre of attention.

Meet Keith.

Not only was young Keith excited to meet our residents, but he also discovered he had something in common with three wonderful ladies.

Heather Turner (left) was married to a Keith, Eileen Tinning is married to a Keith, and Ann Matthews was also married to a Keith. Needless to say, the ladies were absolutely thrilled to have their photo taken with a little boy who shares such a familiar and much-loved name.

It's perhaps no surprise. Keith was one of Australia's most popular boys' names throughout the 1950s and 1960s, meaning many Australians aged 65 and over either know, love or are related to a Keith.

The visit itself was a wonderful celebration of connection, with our residents sharing stories, laughter and cupcakes with the Prep students as they marked their first 100 days of school.

A heartfelt thank you to Kyabram P-12 College, the Kyabram Club and Ben for helping make this memorable day possible. These are the moments that remind us how special our community truly is.

๐Ÿ’œ Sometimes, all it takes is a name to bring generations together.

๐Ÿ“ธ Keep an eye on our page tomorrow as we share more wonderful photos from the Prep students' visit to Warramunda Village. You won't want to miss them!

๐Ÿ† NATIONAL WINNERS! ๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ’œ

What an incredible way to celebrate Aged Care Employee Day.

Today, Warramunda Village was honoured on the national stage, with our Project Control Group named the 2026 Ageing Australia You are ACE! Award winner in the Project Team category for our transformational internal redevelopment. The award was presented by Ageing Australia Victoria/Tasmania State Manager Jeremy Irvine and accepted by members of the Project Control Group.

This award recognises far more than bricks and mortar. It celebrates a shared vision, outstanding teamwork and an innovative approach to redevelopment that has allowed Warramunda to significantly expand and modernise our village while residents have continued to call it home.

The redevelopment has been driven by an incredible Project Control Group comprising Clinical Care Director Sarah, CEO John, Capital Projects Manager Stuart, Project Director and Board member Dale, and Operations Director Darcy, together with our dedicated maintenance team, contractors and the many staff who have embraced change throughout every stage of the project.

As if that wasn't enough reason to celebrate, our Community Care team was also recognised as a national finalist in the Innovation Team category, acknowledging its leadership through a period of significant aged care reform and innovation.

To have one national winner and one national finalist from a regional organisation is an extraordinary achievement and a reflection of the passion, professionalism and commitment of every member of the Warramunda family.

On Aged Care Employee Day, there couldn't be a more fitting reminder that when great people work together, great things happen.

Congratulations to everyone involved. We couldn't be prouder. ๐Ÿ’œ

๐Ÿ’œ HAPPY AGED CARE EMPLOYEE DAY ๐Ÿ’œ

Today, we celebrate the extraordinary people who make Warramunda Village such a special place.

From our nurses and personal care workers to our hospitality, lifestyle, administration, maintenance, laundry, cleaning and support teams, every role matters. Every conversation, every meal prepared, every room cleaned, every activity delivered and every act of kindness helps create a place where our residents feel safe, valued and truly at home.

To our volunteers, who generously give their time and brighten so many days, thank you for the difference you make.

This year's theme, "Thanks for Caring," is a simple message, but one that couldn't be more fitting.

To every member of the Warramunda family, thank you for your compassion, your dedication and the care you show each and every day.

๐Ÿ’œ Different roles. One purpose. Thank you for caring.

Happy Aged Care Employee Day.

๐Ÿ‘‡ Today is all about saying thank you.

If a member of our Warramunda team has touched your life, brightened your day or made a difference to someone you love, please give them a shout out in the comments.

Your words of appreciation mean the world to our team. ๐Ÿ’œ

A huge congratulations to Maree Van Roy, who has been named the July winner of The Lindy Award! ๐Ÿ‘โœจ
Maree joins Louise Connally, Cassie O'Dwyer, Marissa Hooper and Ross Cooper as a monthly winner, each recognised for living Warramunda's WE CARE values every day:

One of our longest-serving team members, Maree spent 16 years as a cleaner at Warramunda before moving into Community Care seven years ago. Since then, she's been helping older people remain in their own homes, doing what she loves most... putting a smile on people's faces. ๐Ÿ˜Šโค๏ธ
Maree's simple philosophy says it all:
"Keep people in their own homes for as long as possible, while making them happy."
Congratulations also to our other outstanding July nominees:

๐Ÿ‘ Aaron Bramley
๐Ÿ‘ Colleen Sutton
๐Ÿ‘ Trudy Peters
