πŸ»πŸ¦πŸ’› Picnics, pies and precious friendships πŸ’›πŸ¦πŸ»

There was plenty of laughter, conversation and full tummies at Warramunda Village yesterday as our residents enjoyed a very special lunchtime visit with the Prep students from Kyabram P-12 College. 🌟

As part of a delightful teddy bear picnic-style gathering, residents and students shared lunch together, chatting away like old friends while enjoying meat pies, sausage rolls, ice cream and fresh fruit. πŸ₯§πŸ“πŸ¨

These intergenerational visits are always a highlight, bringing together young and old to share stories, smiles and special moments. It was wonderful to see friendships forming across the generations, with both residents and students thoroughly enjoying each other's company.

A big thank you to the Prep students and staff from Kyabram P-12 College for spending part of your day with us. We think the teddy bears enjoyed themselves too! 🧸❀️

🎢❀️ Music, Memories and a Few Dance Floor Moments ❀️🎢

There was plenty of toe-tapping, singing along and smiling faces at Warramunda Village last month when Claire and Glen Roberts joined us for a wonderful afternoon of live entertainment.

Music has a special way of bringing people together, and our residents certainly embraced the occasion. As familiar tunes filled the room, couples shared special moments, friends enjoyed a singalong, and the atmosphere was full of warmth, laughter and happiness.

It's always a joy to see our residents connecting through music, creating new memories while revisiting treasured ones from years gone by.

A big thank you to Claire and Glen for sharing their talent and helping make the afternoon so special. πŸŽ΅πŸ’›

πŸŽ‰πŸŒŸ MAY "LINDY" WINNER ANNOUNCED! πŸŒŸπŸŽ‰

At Warramunda, we are incredibly fortunate to have team members who go above and beyond every day to support our clients, residents and colleagues. This month, we are delighted to celebrate one of those people.

Congratulations to our May recipient of ✨ The Lindy ✨... the wonderful Marissa Hooper! πŸŒŸπŸ†

If you've spent any time around Warramunda Community Care, you'll understand why Marissa's name has become such a familiar one in our nominations. After being recognised in March, April and again in May, she has consistently been acknowledged by her peers for the care, commitment and professionalism she brings to her role.

As our Community Care Services and Operations Coordinator, Marissa plays a vital role in supporting the delivery of care to more than 150 clients across our Support at Home services. Working closely with our carers, case managers and Director Leah Konings, she helps ensure clients receive the support they need while providing guidance and assistance to staff every step of the way.

Whether it's solving a problem, answering a question or helping coordinate services, Marissa is often one of the first people her colleagues turn to. Her dedication to delivering high-quality care and support is evident in everything she does. πŸ’›πŸ‘

Marissa now joins Louise Connally and Cassie O'Dwyer as Warramunda's monthly Lindy winners for 2026.

🌼 MAY NOMINEES 🌼

A huge congratulations also goes to this month's nominees:

⭐ Sean Davidson
⭐ Joy Orr
⭐ Bernadete Daperoc
⭐ Cesare Malerba
⭐ Kellie Wickham
⭐ Jason White
⭐ Tahir Yaqoobi
⭐ Marissa Hooper

The continued recognition of so many staff members each month is a wonderful reflection of the culture we are building across Warramunda. Thank you to every nominee for the difference you make every day.

πŸ’› WHAT IS THE LINDY?

The Lindy is Warramunda's Employee of the Month award, recognising team members who consistently demonstrate our core values of Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence.

Each monthly winner progresses to consideration for the overall Lindy Award, presented at our annual Service Awards celebration.

πŸŽ‰ Congratulations again, Marissa. Thank you for your dedication, your leadership and the care you provide to our clients, community and team. We are proud to celebrate your achievement. πŸ’›βœ¨πŸ‘

🎯 Bullseye fun in Saunders Street! 🎯

Last week, residents in Saunders Street enjoyed a lively game of sticky ball darts following morning tea, with plenty of laughter, friendly competition and a few surprising shots finding their mark.

One of the highlights was newcomer Jim Nicholl, who was playing the game for the very first time. Much to his delight, Jim came away with the win, although he was quick to modestly put it down to "just a fluke!"

Activities like these are a wonderful way for residents to stay active, social and engaged, while sharing plenty of smiles along the way. Congratulations, Jim! πŸ‘

πŸ‘‘ Getting Ready for a Royal Celebration πŸ‘‘

Preparations are well underway for our King's Birthday celebrations at Warramunda Village this Friday, with residents putting their creativity to work crafting some magnificent crowns fit for royalty.

There was plenty of concentration, conversation and laughter as colourful creations began to take shape, each one reflecting the personality and imagination of its maker. From sparkling decorations to carefully chosen finishing touches, no detail was overlooked.

Activities like these are about more than arts and crafts. They provide an opportunity to connect, share stories and enjoy the anticipation of a special event together.

We can't wait to see these regal creations on display when our residents gather to celebrate the King's Birthday tomorrow. Long may the fun reign! πŸ‘‘βœ¨

🌺 A Special Afternoon with Legacy 🌺

Last week, Warramunda residents Alwyn Drysdale and Bev Wills were honoured to attend a special Legacy Luncheon hosted by Kyabram P-12 College.

The event was beautifully organised by students and staff, with guests treated to a delicious meal prepared by the students themselves. The menu included pumpkin soup, fresh bread rolls, chicken sausage rolls, quiche, and a sweet finish of peaches and ice cream.

One of the highlights of the afternoon was seeing the connections formed between generations. Alwyn enjoyed a wonderful conversation with student Nat, with the pair quickly finding plenty to talk about. Moments like these remind us of the value of sharing stories, experiences and friendships across generations.

A heartfelt thank you to the students, staff and volunteers who made the day so special, particularly Eliza, Nat, School Chaplain Liz and teacher Janine for their warm hospitality.

Alwyn and Bev thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon and were grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a meaningful community event. ❀️

🎨🌺 A Splash of Colour, A Touch of Imagination 🌺🎨

There was plenty of creativity on display at Warramunda Village last month as residents once again gathered for one of our much-loved art sessions with talented Tongala artist Murray Ross.

With paintbrushes in hand and imaginations at work, residents created a wonderful collection of artworks, from vibrant flowers and country scenes to unique abstract creations bursting with personality. No two paintings were the same, and that's exactly what makes these sessions so special.

Beyond the finished masterpieces, the morning was filled with conversation, concentration, laughter and the simple joy of creating something from scratch. It's amazing to see how a blank sheet of paper can quickly become a colourful expression of memories, ideas and inspiration.

A heartfelt thank you to Murray for sharing his artistic talent, patience and encouragement with our residents each month. We can't wait to see what next month's canvases will bring. πŸ–ŒοΈπŸ’›
