Clifford Craig Health Foundation

The Clifford Craig Health Foundation was established in 1992 by the local community with the founding vision to improve health outcomes for the region.

Based at Launceston General Hospital, the foundation has since developed into a vibrant organisation, which plays a vital role in facilitating quality medical research into the health issues that affect the people within our community. Most importantly, our program is designed to fund medical research that will help attract researchers, higher degree students, and specialist doctors and physicians

to work in our region. Since its inception, the Clifford Craig Foundation has built a quality research centre at the LGH and has committed to provide in excess of $4 million in funding for over 100 worthwhile medical research projects. Our dedicated research team have established a reputation for relevant, practical and innovative research which has truly improved medical understanding and better treatments for many serious illnesses,

We have demonstrated that we can make significant contributions to medical knowledge and with continued community support we can do much more.

Today, more than 100 wonderful supporters joined us for the Friends of Clifford Craig's annual Soup & Sandwich Luncheon – and what a day it was!

A highlight was hearing from Dr Brianna Atto, one of our Medical Research Grant recipients, who shared her inspiring work investigating a promising new treatment to prevent common bacterial ear and lung infections impacting children and older people.

It's research like this that reminds us why every fundraiser, every donation and every volunteer hour matters.

But can we please take a moment to celebrate our absolute superstars... the Friends of Clifford Craig! 👏

These amazing volunteers poured their hearts into today's event, making more than 26 litres of homemade soup, preparing 420 sandwiches, baking countless delicious slices, and doing it all with smiles on their faces (and probably a few sore feet by the end!).

We are so incredibly lucky to work alongside people who care so deeply about making a difference for patients and healthcare in Northern Tasmania. Their generosity, friendship and community spirit are something really special, and today was another beautiful reminder of what can be achieved when people come together for a great cause.

Thank you to everyone who attended, supported and helped make today such a wonderful success. ❤️

The temperature might have been a little crisp at the Devonport Football Club last Tuesday, but the welcome was warm and inviting!

Thank you to Robyn and members of the Devonport School for Seniors for the opportunity to present on how the Clifford Craig Health Foundation is helping improve health outcomes for all North West residents by funding medical research, supporting education and training for health professionals, funding important medical equipment for the Mersey Community and North West Regional Hospital and investing in disease prevention and health promotion events and forums.

Proud to support the next generation of healthcare researchers. 🏥

University of Tasmania medical students Chun Wai Chan and Chloe Hui recently presented their research at the Australian College for Emergency Medicine annual symposium, sharing findings that show point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) can help reduce emergency department waiting times for patients experiencing early pregnancy complications.

Congratulations to Chun Wai, Chloe and supervisor and Foundation Grant recipient, Dr Rohan Church, on showcasing Tasmanian-led research with real-world impact. A big thank you to our generous donors across the community who make these grants possible for local healthcare professionals. 💞
