It doesn’t always hurt where the problem starts.
When you have pain, it’s natural to focus on the area that hurts.
But the body doesn’t work in isolation.
Your movement, posture, strength and mobility can all influence how different areas of your body work together. That’s why during an osteopathic assessment, Matthew may look at areas other than where you feel your discomfort.
The aim is to understand the bigger picture and develop an approach that is specific to you.
Find it. Fix it. Leave it alone.
If something isn't moving the way it should, get in touch with Back Into Action Osteopathic Group in Macleod.

🏌️ GOLFERS — MATT GETS IT!

Matt doesn't just work with golfers… he is one! ⛳

Matt loves his golf, so when a golfer walks into Back Into Action with a stiff back, tight hips or trouble rotating, he understands the frustration.

After all, there's nothing worse than standing over the ball thinking:

“This is it… I've finally got the perfect swing.”

…and then your body says “Absolutely not.” 😂

Golf requires more than a good swing. Your body needs mobility, strength, balance and rotation to help you move well throughout your round.

And thankfully, Matt's golf game is more reliable than Essendon's hitting this year! 😉🔴⚫

Matt's approach is to look at how your body is moving, identify areas that may be limiting you and help you work towards moving better — both on and off the course.

Because the goal is simple:

Keep you moving. Keep you golfing. Keep the excuses to a minimum. 😉

⛳ Don't just work on your swing — work on the body that creates it.

3 THINGS WE HEAR ALL THE TIME IN THE CLINIC 👀
Sound familiar? You might be guilty of one of these!

The familiar excuse:

“I'VE JUST LEARNED TO LIVE WITH IT.”
You might have got used to the discomfort, but that doesn't mean you have to ignore it.

The movement problem:

“IT ONLY HURTS WHEN I TURN MY NECK.”
So… every time you check your blind spot? 🚗
Pain with certain movements is worth paying attention to.

The classic:

“I THOUGHT IT WOULD EVENTUALLY GO AWAY.”
Sometimes symptoms settle. Sometimes they stick around. If discomfort persists or keeps returning, it's worth getting it checked.

DON'T JUST PUT UP WITH IT.
Find it. Fix it. Leave it alone.
At Back Into Action Osteopathic Group, Matt takes the time to assess how you're moving and discuss the options that may help.
Have a niggle you've been ignoring? Get in touch with us.

Lower back pain is a common problem that Osteos manage frequently! Our for reducing your risk of a flare up is to strengthen your gluteal muscles!
A ‘bridge’ is a simple and effective glute strengthening exercise where you push down into the floor with your feet and lift your hips up, squeezing your glutes in the process.
What is your favourite glute-strengthening exercise?

It’s important that we’re listening to our body so we’re not overusing our muscles! When dealing with an overuse injury, assessing your movement and understanding your training loads or activity can help us identify the cause of your injury. And remember, overuse injuries don’t just occur in the young and fit – middle-age or older people can be affected as well! Would an assessment benefit you? Comment below!
