Before introducing AI, bring lived experience into the conversation.

People with disability are already using AI to navigate barriers, from making complex information easier to process to supporting everyday communication. That experience can help organisations understand what is useful, what needs to change and how a tool will work in practice.

• For a customer service chatbot: that might mean making it easier to reach a staff member.
• For recruitment: it could mean reviewing how candidates receive instructions and request adjustments.
• For workplace policies: it means understanding where AI already supports participation.

Those insights are valuable while the brief is being written and suppliers are being considered.

An accessible homepage does not always mean an accessible digital journey.

A person may begin with a search, visit your website, open a PDF, complete a form and move to a separate booking, payment or recruitment platform. If one step creates a barrier, the whole journey can break down.

When reviewing digital accessibility, consider:
• Can people complete the task independently?
• Is essential information easy to find?
• Are forms, documents and multimedia accessible?
• Have third-party platforms been included in the review?

This is a strong example of disability inclusion moving beyond intention and becoming part of the systems that shape community sport.

The City of Casey has embedded Sport4All into its Club Accreditation Program, placing Inclusion and Community Engagement alongside good governance and financial sustainability.

Sport4All was created and is managed by Get Skilled Access, and it is great to see the program helping councils and clubs turn learning and inclusion planning into practical action.

Great opportunity for tennis clubs and coaches to get involved in All Abilities Week.

It’s also good to see the Tennis Accessibility Profile form part of this year’s program — a practical tool developed through collaboration between Tennis Australia, Tennis Victoria and Get Skilled Access to help clubs better understand and improve accessibility.

Applications close 11 September.

Not long to go.

Funding applications for All Abilities Week presented by Bupa close on 11 September 2026.

Running from 19-25 October, All Abilities Week is a dedicated moment in the tennis calendar to increase awareness, create more participation opportunities for people with disability and help clubs build more inclusive environments.

For eligible Tennis Australia-affiliated clubs and coaching businesses, funding support includes a $1,000 grant, an Activation Starter Pack, marketing resources and ongoing support.

There’s also a strong focus this year on helping clubs look beyond a single event - including Come and Play opportunities and completing the Tennis Accessibility Profile.

We’re sharing this across the Sport4All network because there’s still time to get involved.

Who gets represented in travel marketing matters. So does whether the experience being promoted is actually accessible.

GSA Consultant, Bridie McKim joined Tourism Australia and the Shift 20 Initiative at the Mumbrella Travel Marketing Summit for a conversation about accessibility, inclusion and authentic representation of travellers with disability.

Great to see these conversations continuing across the Australian travel industry.

A fantastic night celebrating the people and organisations helping move disability inclusion forward in sport.

We were especially pleased to see Tennis Victoria receive the Sport Initiative of the Year - VIC Accessibility & Inclusion Profile award.

The profile began through collaboration between Tennis Australialia, Tennis Victoria and GSA, bringing accessibility expertise and the perspectives of people with lived experience into the development process.

What makes the initiative so valuable is its practicality - helping clubs better understand accessibility, identify achievable improvements and give people with disability clearer information so they can make informed choices about participation.

It was also a special night for our wider team, with Sport4All Inclusion Coach

Shivam Wheeler recognised as a finalist for Community Member of the Year for his work across Gippsland with GippSport.

From practical accessibility tools to community-based inclusion work, it was great to see different parts of the same broader effort recognised on the night.

Congratulations to all the finalists and winners, and to Disability Sport and Recreation for another fantastic event.

Great to see Sport4All continuing to grow its presence, this time in the City of Wanneroo.

At the heart of the program is a simple but important approach - working alongside communities and drawing on lived experience to turn inclusion into practical, everyday action.

Thank you to the City of Wanneroo, Jordan Wright JP and everyone supporting the program’s next chapter in WA. We’re excited to see what’s ahead.

Every great event starts by listening.

Creating accessible and inclusive experiences doesn't begin when the gates open. It begins by listening to the people who experience events in different ways.

Brisbane 2032 is inviting people with disability, along with their families, carers, support workers and companions, to help shape its Disability Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP) by sharing their experiences through a short survey.

At GSA, we know the value of lived experience in creating meaningful change. Through our work across accessibility, disability inclusion and programs like Sport4All, we've seen firsthand how listening leads to better decisions and better outcomes.

If you've attended sporting events, concerts, festivals, community events or other major events, your experiences can help shape a more accessible and inclusive Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The survey takes around 10 minutes and closes on 4 August 2026.
