ETM Course Adelaide wrapped up last week, and it was a great start to a big week in South Australia.

Thank you to Course Director A/Prof Tim Leeuwenburg, Course Coordinator Gilly Stant and our faculty for your time, energy and expertise.

To our participants, thank you for joining us. After the course, it was a real pleasure to catch up with many of you at the ETM booth at RMA26.

Those conversations, along with the feedback you shared at the end of the course, mean a lot to us. We read through all participant feedback carefully after every course - it shapes how we keep improving each one - so thank you for helping shape what comes next.

Congratulations to our competition winners! Andrew won an ETM or PTM Course registration and Nitya took home the Leatherman Raptor Rescue shears, which drew plenty of interest at the booth!

Thank you to everyone who took part in ETM Course Toowoomba this week. You brought real enthusiasm and it showed!

Thank you also to our faculty, including Course Director Tim Leeuwenburg and Course Coordinator Sara Harvie, for giving their time and expertise to make the course happen.

One participant summed it up: “The best confidence boosting course that I have attended.” We can’t ask for more than that.

We are proud to announce that Dr Paul Airau from the Solomon Islands, has been awarded the 2026 John Richards Memorial Scholarship.

The scholarship honours the legacy of John Richards, an exceptional educator and ETM Course Instructor and Director, who was passionate about trauma care and sharing knowledge with colleagues across the Pacific region.

We had a wonderful response this year and sincerely thank everyone who took the time to apply. The next scholarship round will open in June 2027.

Another fantastic ETM Advanced Course just wrapped up in Melbourne. So great to meet clinicians from all around Aus/NZ who were so enthusiastic to learn more about trauma management and share their experiences of delivering trauma care in such a diverse range of settings. Shout out to the amazing faculty, coordinator Adrian Hutchinson and Peter Lalor and the BlueRock team for sharing their amazing office space with us for the weekend.

Kane is an emergency nurse with more than 20 years across metropolitan and rural emergency departments and critical care. He now works in the ED at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in Perth, with a particular interest in resuscitation, trauma and team leadership.
