In our July team professional development day, we spent time updating our understanding of Cortical Visual Impairment. It is not the same as traditional visual Impairment, which we have long called blindness, and requires a different approach to using communication aids. It affects up to 70% of kids with CP, 64% of kids with epilepsy, and 23% of kids with Autism!! It's good for everyone to know that expertise in working with kids with CVI doesn't lie with one organisation.
