Blaire brings valuable experience in administration and client support within the health and wellness sector, alongside her ongoing studies in Psychological Science. We are thrilled to have her expertise on board to support our clinic and our clients.

✨ What is Assistive Technology (AT)?

Assistive Technology is equipment prescribed by an Occupational Therapist to help people complete everyday tasks more safely, comfortably and independently. Following a comprehensive assessment, OTs recommend and trial equipment that is tailored to each person's individual goals, environment and support needs.

AT can include:
🛏️ Pressure care and positioning equipment
🪑 Seating and mobility solutions
🚿 Bathroom and toileting aids
🍴 Daily living equipment
🏠 Home modifications and environmental controls
🚶 Walking aids and transfer equipment

💙 Client Win: Our OT, Andrinna and our friends from Active Rehab, recently supported a client experiencing discomfort and poor positioning in bed. After trialling a range of specialised sleep cushions, they found the right combination to significantly improve the client's comfort and overnight positioning.

At the OT Group, we are committed to listening to, learning from, and advocating for our clients with disabilities. Their experiences are at the heart of our work, and we are dedicated to ensuring their voices are always heard.

As we observe Disability Pride Month, we want to highlight the meaning behind each colour of the flag:

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that Jess has been promoted to Speech Pathology Lead! 🌟

Jess has been such an incredible part of our community, supporting clients of all ages and diagnoses to communicate to the best of their abilities.

Whether she’s diving into paediatric feeding or helping individuals find their voice through both basic and high-tech AAC devices, Jess’s passion for her work shines through. She is a true advocate for her clients, an integral team player, and someone who always ensures care teams feel supported and confident.

In her role, Jess leads and supports our incredible team of Speech Pathologists across the group, helping them grow, collaborate, and continue delivering exceptional outcomes for the people and families we support.

This week marks a bittersweet milestone as we celebrate five incredible years of Mikaela’s contribution to OT Group and our amazing Bendigo team. 💙

When Mikaela joined us, Bendigo was just one solo OT with a vision to make a difference. Five years later, that vision has grown into an amazing team of 22 allied health professionals, supporting the people in our community who need us most. Mikaela has been an integral part of that journey, helping shape the team, mentoring others, and making a lasting impact on so many clients, families and colleagues.

While we’re incredibly sad to see Mikaela leave our team, we’re equally excited to see her begin this next chapter in a university-based research role. We know she’ll bring the same passion, dedication and commitment to improving lives that she’s shown every day with us.

🎉 Celebrating 3 years with OT Group! 🎉

This month we’re celebrating Andrinna’s 3-year anniversary with OT Group 🙌💛

Over the past three years, Andrinna has become a true subject matter expert in Home Modifications and Assistive Technology, supporting clients to live more safely, independently and confidently in their homes.

One of Andrinna’s favourite things about working at OT Group is the incredible team culture, the opportunities for growth, and being able to celebrate meaningful wins with her clients. She also has a particular passion for working with people living with neurological conditions, helping them achieve their goals and maximise their independence.

When she’s not at work, you’ll find Andrinna catching up with friends, playing badminton 🏸, getting lost in a good book 📚, or exploring Melbourne’s restaurant scene 🍽️.
