Yeahhh buddy

Your body is far more resilient than you’ve been led to believe. It’s not as fragile as you think, and it’s capable of far more than you realise. 🤝

Lift heavy. Run far. 🤔🏋️‍♂️🏃‍♂️

Strength training isn’t the enemy of endurance training. It’s part of building a stronger, more efficient runner.

ROAD TO RECOVERY 🛣️
Kai Martin

Let’s see if we can get this man back doing what he loves! 🏃‍♂️

This is by no means going to be a quick or easy journey, but we’re going to take it one step at a time.

The goal is to rebuild, regain confidence and get him back to doing what he loves.

We’ll try to document the process along the way — the challenges, the progress and everything in between. 🫣

Control → Confidence → Capacity.

🚨 NEW TREATMENT AVAILABLE AT BFLEXIN REMEDIAL!

INTRODUCING RADIAL SHOCKWAVE THERAPY ⚡

Another tool added to the clinic to help clients manage pain, improve movement and get back to doing what they love.

WHAT IS RADIAL SHOCKWAVE THERAPY?

Radial Shockwave Therapy (RSWT) is a non-invasive treatment that uses high-energy mechanical pressure waves delivered through a handheld applicator into the targeted tissue.

These mechanical impulses provide a stimulus that can influence pain sensitivity and encourage biological responses involved in tissue repair and adaptation.

WHAT CAN IT HELP WITH?

Radial shockwave therapy may be beneficial for certain persistent musculoskeletal conditions, including:

✔️ Plantar fasciitis

✔️ Achilles tendinopathy

✔️ Patellar tendinopathy (jumper’s knee)

✔️ Tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis)

✔️ Golfer’s Elbow (Medial Epicondylitis)

✔️ Certain shoulder tendon conditions

✔️ Other selected tendon-related pain conditions

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Rather than simply masking pain, shockwave therapy delivers a mechanical stimulus that may:

▪️Influence pain signalling and sensitivity

▪️Stimulate cellular responses associated with tissue remodelling

▪️Support recovery in certain persistent tendon conditions

▪️Improve pain and function when combined with appropriate rehabilitation

It’s another treatment option I can integrate alongside remedial massage, dry needling and progressive exercise when clinically appropriate.

The goal remains the same: reduce pain, restore movement and build long-term capacity.

Not every condition needs shockwave, and more treatment doesn’t necessarily mean better results.

It’s about choosing the right stimulus, for the right person, at the right time.

Bookings now available.

“You can go harder bro, I have a high pain tolerance.” 🙂‍↔️

Manual therapy is a form of sensory/mechanical input that the nervous system responds to.

The goal isn’t to see how much pressure you can tolerate…. it’s to use the right amount of input to create the response we want.

Sometimes the problem isn’t where you feel the pain.

When pressing, pulling or extending through the elbow, discomfort at the elbow or shoulder can sometimes be influenced by how the forearm is moving and how you’re applying pressure through the hand

The radius and ulna need to move relative to each other as the forearm rotates. If someone has limited pronation/supination, changing their grip, hand position or where they apply pressure can alter the load through the forearm, elbow and shoulder.

That’s why a small change at the hand can sometimes make an exercise feel completely different further up the chain, play around utilising tools such as fat grips pictured above.

With pain is present take a step back and Look at how the whole movement is working.

NERVES NEED 3 THINGS:

🩸 Blood flow
↔️ Space
🏃 Movement

Probably the most common one I get in Clinic

“I’ve got sciatica, so does that mean there’s something wrong with my nerve?”

Not necessarily.

Sciatic symptoms don’t automatically mean the nerve itself is damaged. Often, the nerve may be irritated, sensitised or under increased mechanical pressure somewhere along its pathway.

Think about those 3 things a nerve needs.

If something is reducing the space available to the nerve, affecting its normal blood flow, or limiting how freely the nerve and surrounding tissues can move, it can contribute to pain, tingling, numbness or other sciatic symptoms.

So rather than automatically thinking “my nerve is damaged,” we look at what might be irritating it.

Can we improve movement?
Can we reduce unnecessary compression?
Can we get the surrounding area moving and loading better?

If we can improve the environment around the nerve and gradually restore comfortable movement, there’s a good chance your symptoms can improve.

Nerve pain is something I’ve dealt with personally and wouldn’t wish it on anyone.

2 YEARS OF BFLEXIN REMEDIAL 🚀

Hundreds of people helped, and I’ve been lucky enough to be a part of so many different journeys along the way.

From helping people get out of pain, recover from injuries and move better, to getting them back to doing what they love and achieving their goals — it’s incredibly rewarding.

I’m grateful every day that I get to do something I genuinely love and help people along the way.

There are still plenty of goals for Bflexin Remedial, with a few more courses already planned so I can continue improving and providing the best possible service for my target clientele

Just a quick update from me.

This week will be my last week in the clinic before I take a couple of weeks off to welcome the arrival of our baby 👶❤️

With bub due any day now, I’m hoping to make it through the week as planned, but I appreciate your understanding if I need to reschedule or cancel an appointment at short notice.

During my time off, I’ll still be available for a limited number of emergency appointments. I also know a few of you have events coming up, and I’m happy to help where I can if it fits around my schedule. As always, my wife and family will come first during this special time.

If you’d like an appointment, please jump online and book ahead. The first couple of weeks in July are now open, and spots tend to fill quickly.

A small price increase will take effect from 1 July.

As always, thank you for your ongoing support, trust, and loyalty. I truly appreciate being part of your journey and helping keep you moving.

Much love,
Ben 🫶
